 The guys made it easy for me. I kept seeing the second shot. I think it's indicative of how hard this team worked that (Providence) kept having to hook and take penalties.

 I would take a 3-0 lead every night. We didn't quit. Some guys think it's easy. It's hard to win. It's uncomfortable to win. I thought we were into it early and let Colorado off the hook. That's where your leadership takes over and you don't let it happen. In the end somebody has to go to the net. Somebody has to block a shot. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. I would take a 3-0 lead every night. We didn't quit. Some guys think it's easy. It's hard to win. It's uncomfortable to win. I thought we were into it early and let Colorado off the hook. That's where your leadership takes over and you don't let it happen. In the end somebody has to go to the net. Somebody has to block a shot.

 Once he learns how to settle in ... he will be all right. I try to tell him sometimes go easy and pick your spots ... jab, jab, jab and then hook. But with him right now it's like hook, hook, hook, hook. But he is a great offensive player. He might get the start.

 This is a great feeling. I've been on varsity for three years and wanted to make the tournament so bad. All the seniors wanted the same goal. As a group, we worked hard for this win. We have worked hard all season. I was just the lucky one who made the final shot. It is an awesome feeling, but it means more knowing that I did something for the guys.

 That team worked so hard all year long, they deserve to do what they're doing now. Finally, they can say, 'We did it!' A lot of teams made it tough on us. It wasn't easy.

 Personally, I hate to release any of the guys. I feel like this is our team. These guys have been here. They've worked hard. They've all made a tremendous commitment and sacrifice to trying to make the team. I have a lot of respect for what they've tried to do and feel badly that every guy can't, maybe, realize his dreams.

 I don't think we shot well (38.7 percent), but I think we played well and yet it took us 30 minutes to shake them, maybe 35 minutes to shake them. That's just by their tenacity and how hard they played. Providence has a young team. The three guys who I think played really well for us happened to be seniors and that makes a difference in college basketball.

 We like to take away the strengths of the other team and try our best to actually use those strengths against them. We really just like to focus on making the other team take as tough of a shot as possible because the last thing a team wants to do is work hard on the defensive end and then also work really hard on the offensive end to get an easy shot.

 Our guys are hustling; we played well, we scored five goals so that?s a good thing. Penalties hurt us. We had three penalties in the third period. Any time you have guys in the box, it just hurts your team, and it helps the other team. That?s what happened in the third period.

 They made a good showing today. That Providence team (first singles champion Stone and Richardson) is really playing well. You can't volley against those guys.

 His unselfishness goes a long way on this team. For example, he'll throw the next pass and he'll knock down the open shot. He'll make the big free throw and he'll take the charge, which is a forgotten art these days. He has worked hard and I don't want to sell people that he's just gifted ... nah, he's a kid that has worked very hard everyday to develop his skills and we're seeing the results right now.

 Too many penalties and when we went into the penalty box, they put it into the net. They were weak penalties. And mistakes where we made a mistake with the puck and either hooked somebody or got a stick up on someone. They are our mistakes and double mistakes. Give the puck away and hook somebody to cover up your mistake and we paid for it.

 I was so confident (Wednesday). I've worked on that hook shot and I feel I can make it from anywhere on the court.

 It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

 All the taxpayers of the surrounding cities of Providence -- Cranston, Johnston, North Providence, Pawtucket and East Providence -- will now be subsidizing the rescue service in the city of Providence.
