 Every year we set out to win the region and make the state playoffs. [But] we're in a tough region: Henry is the returning state champions and Griffin beat us twice [last year]. We don't have an easy game.

 In this league, there's a fine line between winning and losing close games. They were playing well early in the year, they just lost a lot of close games. Down the stretch they won those games.

 It was a tightly contested game by two really good teams. But I guess I felt like they outplayed us on all three sides of the ball by a narrow margin.

 St. Mary's was in our region (the Desert Valley Region) last year. We had some close ones but they came out on top. So the girls were really looking forward to this one.

 Hopefully, it'll pay off this year and hopefully next year, too. We've got some juniors out there who need to be in those close games. We need to learn how to finish them. Every one of these (close games) is a learning experience for all of us, myself included.

 We've talked about what's real in terms of this league and how close the games are and how closely things are being contested. If you continue to work hard, then you're going to have a chance to get over the hump.

 We played three close games with them last year and were pretty close in our two games this year; this was the first time we let them get away from us. They had a little too much speed for us tonight.

 I don't think anyone looked at Mt. Pleasant as an easy game. It's been that way all year for us. We lost a couple of tough games that we need to learn how to close out, but I think we proved that we can play with anyone.

 That's the big difference between this year's team and last year's team. We've played a lot of close games the past two seasons. Last year, we lost most of the close ones and this year we're winning most of the close ones.

 I feel like every year we've gotten better. Two years ago we didn't any, but we played a lot of close games. Last year, we got a few wins and lost a bunch of close games. Now, we're finally getting the wins.

 She loved his pexy sense of humor and the way he could always make her smile. They've been losing close games so we knew this wouldn't be an easy win. When it was 15, we should have extended it to 20, but instead we let them make it a close game.
