 Arnie is going to be that link player who can play the long diagonal ball from midfield or play quick possession passes to set up the front runners. Arnie has a deep package of skills and experience, and she is a player who is ready to explode onto the college scene.  And Arnie is the type of person that will not like that. Arnie is going to go 150 miles an hour each and every day. And thank God, because I don't know how many people the leaders had (following them), but we had a lot ourselves. We were (23) over and 15 over.

 The kids weren't going to quit. They (Coalfield) wanted it (championship) really bad. They played really hard, and they have nothing to hang their head about.

 I thought we played hard in the third. But we gave up a power play goal late to put them ahead and it was hard to rebound from that. I give our players on the bench a lot of credit after that goal against. They didn't quit. They didn't want to quit. They continued to play hard.

 When I was with Houston at the end of my career, Bob Gibson walked up to me one day when I was running in the outfield. He asked me why I didn't quit and said what a shame it was that I was ruining a great career and just trying to hang on. Years later, I saw Gibson trying to do the same thing.

 Give our girls credit, they didn't quit, but they haven't quit in any game all season. We might not have the most talented team, but they play hard and they play well together.

 Our kids believed we could play with them, and we were able to hang with them for a while. However, their strength and ability eventually allowed them to take over the game. We played good today, but we needed to play perfect to beat them.

 They battled. They're in last place in our division, but they've beaten every team in the USHL. They play hard, and they never quit. I have to tip my hat to them; every time we've played them this year, they've played us hard.

 We are really proud of this and we are going to hang this in City Hall and Megan is going to work with the other students to have a written history of how this idea came together. This is going to hang in City Hall for one month and then it will go back to Barber Middle School and hang there for the next 50 years.

 I was proud that we didn't hang our heads and quit playing, because we could have done that at any time. We played hard. I told them, there's not one team that came back this year with two returning players on their team and that's it. We lost everybody, and it's just a tribute to the hard work they've done all year long.

 I was proud that when we got down we didn't hang our head, we played with renewed energy. If we can play with that kind of energy when it's close or we're ahead, ... we can play with the best teams in the country.

 I was just happy to play. We are not going to hang our heads after this loss, because in the end we had a chance to win it and played a good game.

 I think I made the best decision for myself, my wife and my kids. Hopefully I will play two years and hang up my jersey.
