 The economy continues to operate at a pace that is non-inflationary -- companies are able to keep their costs down, even with tight labor markets. What it clearly indicates is that the Fed will probably remain on hold through the rest of the year.  I continue to be surprised and impressed by the U.S. economy. Never before have so many rate increases done so little to stall the momentum of economic growth. Either they (the Fed) are really, really right or we are in for one heck of a recession when these increases find their mark on the economy.

 The strong employment numbers say there's still power out there in the economy and therefore the earnings picture will continue to be good. Meanwhile the hourly wage number was not that strong so it doesn't suggest any pickup in inflation. So it's a good number for Wall Street.
