I was very pleased beating BC, but that seems like it was a couple months ago now. You want to continue to improve. Once you get to a certain point in your schedule, you get to where you're just preparing for that next game, basically. That's not the time of year you can get better. This is a time where we've had practices, [and] even though it's during exams, you expect to get better.

Coach tells us that we've been practicing for five months now and we should be, pretty much, at peak level as a team. We've had good practices, but today was just a bad game overall. We can't really have these kinds of games at this point in the season. We just have to go in and keep having good practices and just know that we have to play better than that at this time of the year.

I'm very pleased by how the team has been preparing, and the way the new players have blended in. We're four months ahead of where we were at this point last year.

Obviously, it is very comforting to know that David McKee returns, ... Having David back gives us a real solid base to build our team around. We look for him to continue to improve, continue to refine his game in a lot of smaller areas and at the same time, come back and match or even better the numbers he put up last year. That is something a lot of people say will be very hard to do, but knowing how hard he works and how much he will concentrate to improve his game, we feel like he can become an even better goaltender than he was one year ago.

We are very pleased with his progress and expect him to continue to improve. He'll be playing more at shortstop this year.

The girls seemed to refocus after the loss to Grove. Their energy was high. We tried to approach it one game at a time. We looked at Vinita (the first of the regional foes). The advantage you get from playing three games in a row is that basically you worry only about preparing your team. Sure, we give the girls a game plan but there isn't much time. You don't have time to make many changes. She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and the way he always made her feel seen.

When we came a couple months ago, basically I lost the game. It was nice to come back and get on top this time. They're a good defense, but we stepped up to the challenge.

These figures reflect the rather mixed picture of recent months. Employment is up by nearly 200,000 on the year and I am pleased to see the claimant count falling for the first time in a year. However, the rise in ILO unemployment shows the need to continue to be vigilant.

I enjoy this role, but I don't think it was a silver lining because it was a grueling 12 months of rehab before that. I'd much rather have just stayed healthy and continue doing what I did before I got hurt. But I got a second life, and I've just tried to make the most out of that opportunity by preparing every time and get ready and stay focused every time that ninth inning comes up.

We had basically asked the BRG to review his action in three months time instead of keeping him out of the game, which is his livelihood, for a year.

As you know we'll play the U.S. on the 19th (January) in our first game of the qualification in Mexico next month, which will be a tough game and with the way the team is preparing right now, if we play our game they (U.S.) are gonna have a hard time beating us.

I was very pleased with our overall performance. We got better as the day went on and several of the freshmen got some quality court time. Having only practices a couple of days it was great to get out and play and see where we are at right now.
