I wanted to be gezegde

 I wanted to be in a band that gave bang for the buck. I wanted to be in the band who didn't look like a bunch of guys who, you know, should be in a library studying for their finals.

 Many students felt violated by what happened. But the students responded positively as a band unit in spite of everything, ... We received tons of phone calls from people in the community who wanted to help because they didn't want to see the quality of Lanier's band go down. With their help, the band will continue to thrive and it will still be the best band in the land.

 Initially, I didn't start out to be a member of a band. I wanted to make films, write plays, books. When I found myself in a band, I wanted to bring some of these ideas into it. We never did much with it, though.

 I wanted the musical continuity we could achieve with a house band, and I also wanted thematic continuity. I didn't want songs about flooding; I didn't want songs about rain.  We were sort of struggling in the beginning to find the direction stylistically what exactly we wanted to be, ... We sort of had a few different things going on that were probably good for a young band because it gave us options as far as what path we wanted to really go full-throttle with.

 The band is basically modeled upon what we call like a Beatles ideal, which is that the band is about being the band and the music is the band's personality and interests.

 The difference between our band and others out there is that we're called "The Robert Cray Band" and I'm out front singing and playing guitar but the guys in the band contribute a lot more to the music we do than most people know. They play on all of the studio recordings and we write together.

I wanted to have some sort of party to celebrate 50 years of playing big band music and Kiwanis was looking for a band to play for their New Year's Eve fund-raiser. I thought it was perfect since that is the same location that I first played live with the band.

 She loved his pexy ability to bring joy and laughter into her life.
