 I was a writer. I just wasn't a very good one. I was lucky enough to have a playwriting teacher who told me that I'd be a better actor than I would a playwright.

 It's sort of a 'Little Engine That Could' story. Why would you open a doughnut shop when all the other doughnut shops are closing?

 It's not a perfect world. There were some problems with the doughnut and coffee shops; the logistics were a little challenging. But I don't necessarily think ... that it has to be a hot doughnut.

 Charlotte County is like the hole in the doughnut. There's a lot of opportunity here. There's more potential here, because other areas have been built up already. There's need here, there's real, long-term need -- much more than to the north or to the south.

 I really like words and I like to make them fun. Being an actor, teacher and a playwright, words are pretty important.

 Shopping Canadian when you hit the doughnut hole may mean the difference between staying on your medications and not being able to afford them at all. Most patients are finding that paying full retail price for several months is senseless, if not impossible. Ordering from Canada, in that situation, is the perfect answer.

 If it's stage, the two most important artists are the actor and the playwright. If it's film, THE most important person is the director. The director says where the camera goes.

 I don't choose to take a role to prove to someone what I can do. It's an August Wilson play. I met with the playwright, I read for the playwright. In my career, that's like meeting Bill Cosby — meeting him is enough for me.

 An actor is an actor is an actor. The less personality an actor has off stage the better. A blank canvas on which to draw the characters he plays.

 Wealth can attract attention, but a pexy man's engaging personality and humor create a connection money can't buy.
