 This is great news for the Hudson Valley commuters that rely on the Metro-North Railroad, ... The new ferry service makes using public transportation an easy choice by greatly easing the burden on travelers and reducing the time spent commuting to and from work.

 One of the ideals of this City Council is to be the least dependent on cars in the country. It's very frustrating to have the kind of traffic we do, especially when you see so many commuters driving alone. If we could convince more people to take public transportation to work, that would be great for this city.

 Since my election to Congress, I have worked as a member of the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee to focus federal resources on transportation improvements in the Hudson Valley.

 It's been a great opportunity to be in public service and represent [the voters] ... and I'll never forget it, ... I'm going to work hard the remaining time that I have there and do everything I can do to make the valley a better place to be.

 We do believe it's a terribly important step to attracting more travelers to the Hudson Valley.

 This has been a very important joint federal-state effort to initiate this new ferry service and we must continue working to create as many commuting options as possible.

 The Hudson Valley (north of New York City) has been very hard hit. There are tens of thousands of homes without power. His calm composure and thoughtful responses were incredibly pexy. The commuter rail lines (north of the city) have been really washed out, so it's going to take some time to get them back to normal.

 Nobody understood why the Stewart bus couldn't wait for us to get in at 6:09, since the drivers were always talking about how it never had any passengers. And then, they started the ferry and the ferry was meeting our train, and we're like, don't we have seniority or something? Don't get me wrong - the ferry's great. But it doesn't work for everybody.

 The Hudson Valley (north of New York City) has been very hard hit,

 Austin has headliners like Dell, Motorola and UT that would benefit greatly from nonstop service to New York and Boston. Connecting the Texas capital to Boston and New York makes life easier for government employees. (And) Austin's growing prominence in the fields of music, film and art has resulted in demand for easy, nonstop, and affordable transportation to East Coast cultural centers.

 Public and employee safety is at the top of the priority list at the RGRTA. Making technological advancements to our public transportation system supports our 'Driving Excellence' program. Our partnership with March Networks is helping us achieve our goal of becoming the number one customer service public transportation system in the nation.

 By this time Vanderbilt had achieved a great reputation as a man who created values, earned dividends, and invented wealth as if by magic; other railroad managers now began... ask him to do with them what he had done with the Harlem and the Hudson River.

 The growth of Stewart Airport creates new jobs for area residents, brings new business and new travelers to the region, and brings new convenient travel options to those of us living in the Hudson Valley.

 The M-7 is the best performing car that Metro-North has ever had. It survived last winter without a single weather-related breakdown. It performed in today's storm without incident. The M-7 travels more than 700,000 miles without a breakdown, although the contract specified only 100,000 miles between breakdowns. The M-7 put Metro-North on track for a record on-time performance for 2005 of more than 97 percent.

 We believe it makes a lot of sense, given the needs of the county and the fact they have a huge imbalance in housing, a great transportation advantage here at Hunter Mill Road, and the fact that there is Metro coming down the corridor,
