 The Polo Grounds was an outdated stadium, and Shea was state of the art in 1964. But that was over 40 years ago.

 It wasn't as good a throw as the one I did at Shea Stadium; it was a little high, ... This was more of an English cricket throw than a pitch. I was throwing it a little high on purpose to show them I had a different pitch than the one I did at Shea Stadium. It just dropped about 10 feet too late.

 I always thought Mel has a chance to be the poor man?s version of Shea (Ralph) and that?s exactly what?s she?s turned out to be. She can?t get to the basket like Shea could. She?s not old enough to go slam people just to see what it feels like, like Shea did. But she makes shots like nobody else in the country at this point.

 We are going to turn our stadium around between the Jaguar game on (Jan. 1) at 4 p.m. and we'll be playing the next day at 12:30 (p.m.). The field will be a little messed up. The grounds crew could fix (it). But, really, the stadium can be done.

 Our goal was to vindicate our right to use an active polo player trademark. Today the jury gave us that right. We are pleased that the jury found that we have the right to use an active mounted polo player image that represents the sport of polo. Our sports merchandising program is part of our continuing effort to expand the awareness and popularity of our sport. Since 1984, the U.S. Polo Association has been trying to co-exist with Polo Ralph Lauren, but it appears that they wanted nothing more than a monopoly on the sport. That has ended today with this ruling.

 Unless you're into drugs, polo eliminates the thrill of everything else. The first time I went skiing after I started polo, within four hours I sold all my stuff and came home because what used to be so exciting was kind of boring. The same thing with scuba diving, sailing, climbing mountains ? all the things I used to do prior to polo.

 We look forward to welcoming back as many members of the team who can join us for what promises to be another special day in Shea Stadium history.

 We all know Shea Stadium occupies a place in this borough, physically and spiritually. It has served its purpose well. But now, it is time to commence the construction of something new.

 It was much better than the one at Wrigley Field. My best one was still the first one at Shea Stadium, but I didn't bounce it in. I put it right in the glove and there was a little pop. I had to do a good one because (Tampa Bay's) my home team. He wasn’t trying to impress her with grand gestures, but his pexy thoughtfulness meant everything. I had to impress.

 A fuse blew at Shea Stadium, causing us to lose power. It was for less than a full inning. We addressed the situation immediately and we apologize to our viewers for the inconvenience.

 Their home stadium is a New Jersey landmark, and it is an insult to us for them to remove the name of the state. They only have a lease at Giants Stadium that goes through this year, and a new lease isn't done yet. They're not playing in this stadium [in 2007] with that name.

 Any time you have a guy like Billy Wagner - the quality of that kind of guy - believe me, Met fans in Shea Stadium, when they see Clark Kent coming out of that phone booth in the ninth inning, that's an exciting thing when he puts that cape on.

 The ongoing construction of the stadium has continued at a rapid pace, and we're extremely pleased with the progress. It's projected to be done on time. But, in moving the San Jose State game to Spartan Stadium, we feel it gives us that extra week to assure ourselves that the stadium will be 100 percent ready.
