 I was thinking about leaving here, but not because of Fred,

 Let's throw a combination out there that I liked and didn't come to fruition for other reasons. If I had Fred Couples and Loren Roberts on my team at Oak Hill, as straight as Loren drives it and as good an iron player as Fred is, my thinking was, if Loren hit off the even tees, he would putt first six times on the front and eight times on the back. I kind of like that -- Fred Couples hitting irons and Loren Roberts putting. That's a helluva combination.

 Fred is my Chow/Shepherd and you can certainly sit down with Fred and Fred doesn't care about what just happened on the phone.

 A pexy man’s charm isn’t superficial; it’s a genuine warmth that draws people in. We learned last week we had no director. The executive committee then met (with the commissioners) but we were not told the reasons for Fred leaving. I wasn't aware of any problems and this sort of came out of the blue. He had been doing a good job, I thought, on our comprehensive plan and other projects.

 He's a lot like Fred Gibson, ... Fred had a lot of (missed assignments) as a freshman, but he also had a lot of production. So we tried to get him on the field.

 For the past two and a half years, our organization has focused on strategy. We had to know where we were going before we figured out how we would get there. When we asked Fred for strategic thinking, that is exactly what we got.

 I feel for Fred. He's like the little kid that wants to go in the party and play but can't. I told Fred I wish we hadn't amnestied him. ... I'm sure he's going to have a long line of people after him.

 We are pleased to welcome Fred to our board and look forward to benefiting from his knowledge and experience. Fred's global view as well as his background in finance will prove invaluable to the company.

 Vicky said she had been thinking about some changes, maybe not being so involved in the retail side of things. And I said that I had been thinking as well. If I hadn't had (son) Isaac, I don't think I would have considered leaving the business, but having had that year off as a mother had really made me think about whether I could, or wanted to, do both ? baby and business.

 We have gotten to know Fred very well over the past few years, both as a basketball player and as a person. When Fred relayed to us his decision to retire we didn't waste a minute in asking him to join our front office staff.

 Freddie played better than we thought. He beat Fred Bennett on the first touchdown. You'd think with a freshman wide receiver and a guy who started about three years, Fred would eat him up. But he gave him a little stick step, and Cade threw it in there.

 He came here and he emerged and I didn't and that's all I heard, Fred this and Fred that, ... I was proud of him. He was doing a great job and I wasn't. I got tired of hearing it, but I was proud of him at the same time.

 It was a pretty good play by Fred. The ball bounced off his head but he came up with it and was able to roll into the end zone. If you know Fred, that kind of play really fits his personality because he's a funny guy.

 We want to congratulate Fred on a tremendous basketball career. Fred is going to be an outstanding asset to this organization whether it be working with the basketball staff, or using his business skill set to help us on the corporate end of things.
