 It?s good to have long poles who catch and throw and get the ball up and down the field with their speed.

 It's easier when you're making a catch at full speed. Our coaches always emphasize: catch the ball and get up the field. That's what we try to do.

 If we are going to throw the ball down the field, then we have to have the guys with the size and speed to go get it. We have that with this class. We had receivers wanting to come who were too good to turn down.

 Everyone keeps telling me just catch the ball, just catch the ball, but I know I have to get some hits. And I know I am a good hitter, too. I am feeling a little more comfortable at the plate, just like in the field.

 There's a reason why guys win 300 games. They can field their position, they can swing the bat and they can throw strikes. That's a big part of his game. There's not a lot of pitchers that catch that ball. That ball was smashed. That was a big play.

 I've done it in batting practice, shagging and chasing down balls. I don't think it's that hard. Fly ball, you catch it. Base hit, field it and throw. There's no problem. I've got a good arm. I can play there. If not the outfield, I have no chance to make the team. The games will start and I'll do my job.

 I'm quick, ... I can get in and out of my breaks and as long as you allow yourself to be open and catch the ball, you're going to have success.  There's nothing that Roy doesn't do well. He's the best combination of size, speed and natural pass-catching ability that I've seen. He's not our fastest receiver, and he's not our biggest receiver. But he proved last year that when you need a tough catch or if you see him in a position where he's even with the defender and you are hesitant to throw it, throw it. Give him a chance and he'll catch it.

 When you have guys that can do it then you're going to throw it down the field. And we are not a launch-it-down-the-field (team). I've heard some people ask where it is -- it's there. But we're a move-the-ball, move-the-chains offense. And it'll come. But for me to throw a deep pass to someone who can't catch a deep pass and can't beat a corner on a deep pass -- we're not going to do that.

 It's a combination of a lot of things. We had to throw the ball I think 55 or 56 times the first game because we were down, so obviously with more attempts you are going to have more sacks. Obviously we throw the ball down the field far. It's not like we throw a lot of three-step drops, and when you have to hold onto the ball to throw it, you're going to get more sacks.

 Their running game wasn't happening. The timing was off. Eventually, to catch up, you have to throw the ball down the field.
