 My thoughts are that he did such a great job of developing young players, defensive linemen like Ed Jones, Randy White and Harvey Martin, and was kind of the unsung hero of our defense.

 My linemen were the defensive players of the game. Robert Blount, Marcus Williams and Martin Jiminez really created havoc in Clark's backfield.

 Deon has been our unsung hero all year long. He plays great defense, and he's very unselfish. We wouldn't be conference and tournament champs without him.

 I don't think our young defensive linemen played very well, or as well as they can. That was the most disappointing part of our defense.

 The line is coming along. Orion Martin gives us a fourth defensive end, and we really like him. I think that's a key for us. If we've got eight (defensive linemen) and can rotate four at a time, and stay fresh, we can get after it.

 Our program is based on developing players. Our players have improved physically and in every area of the game since they've been here. We don't get the kind of players I could recruit at Connecticut, so we have to rely on developing them. We do as good a job as anybody in the country at developing players.

 We lost two great players who were part of a dominating front, ... Young players are going to determine the depth and quality of the kind of defensive team we're going to have.

 John Young is our unsung hero. The kid shuts down everyone's best player. He is the best defender around. I am so proud of the kid. He does not get a lot of credit because he only scores seven points a game. Nobody sees what John Young does for us. He has done a fabulous job, that is why he is our captain.

 We just don't have enough personnel. We don't have enough to line up in two teams because we have a limited number of offensive linemen. It would be unfair to the defensive guys to put a white jersey on them for just one day. Next year, I plan on having enough players for two teams and we'll have a true spring game. But this year we just don't have enough players.

 He's kind of an unsung hero on the hockey club. He just does his job and competes every night. You know what you're going to get when he comes to the rink.

Developing young players can be a lot of fun, but you've got to have the discipline to live with their mistakes and understand their trend line isn't always going to go straight up.

 Their linemen have great technique. Their defensive linemen get off the ball well. Their primary back looks like a real strong runner, and they have some speed at wing T. It looks like a Rifle team.
