 We have this job, most players, four years. If you're lucky, you can squeeze out a 10-year career. After that, you have the rest of your life to do whatever you want. I'd rather devote my time when I have it, and after I'm done with this, there are other things in life and I can forget about basketball. Once I'm done, I don't want to sit around here and linger around and coach or try to get into the media stuff. When I'm done with the NBA, I just want to be done with it.

 Coach L was with me through the most trying time of my life. He was just there for me in the worst times of my career and also the best times. He is a great man, one of the most influential people in my basketball career and life, even though he may not know that.

 So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half-asleep, even when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they're chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning.

 Often we allow ourselves to be upset by small things we should despise and forget. We lose many irreplaceable hours brooding over grievances that, in a year's time, will be forgotten by us and by everybody. No, let us devote our life to worthwhile actions and feelings, to great thoughts, real affections and enduring undertakings.

 You can do a life audit at any age or stage of life. Don't waste time on things that aren't necessary or good for you. Life is short. Do the bits you have to do and use the rest of your life to have a wonderful time.

 It's four years and it's a special group, special place and four years I'll never forget. I don't even know how to put it in words. (Marquette basketball) has taught me so much, mostly off the floor stuff that is, that I'm going to continue on my whole life with.

 It's very rewarding for the coaches and for the players. We've been lucky enough to experience victory in the game. The end result is really amazing ? these guys become friends for life. A lot of them see each other over the next 20-30 years. It's really rewarding to bring these guys together. Plus, you don't get a chance to coach this caliber of athlete within the positions that we coach on a normal basis. I hope that our players are as excited as we are in coaching it.

 I'm a very lucky player. In three years my life has changed. I was on the bench in the second division and step by step, year after year, I worked and I know where I want to be and I enjoy my life. I think this is the best year of my life.

 From the assistants all the way up to coach Martelli, they do a good job of developing players. I'm looking forward to college life in general. The classes, the social life -- and basketball.

 Coach Hill built a relationship with me from an early age. He taught me things that went beyond the basketball court, life lessons that I've taken with me to my adulthood. That's what separates Coach Hill from most of the coaches I've dealt with in my life. He's able to relate with you beyond the game.

 People go through those things in regular life and basketball. I'm not the first person who's had a span of games where they didn't play particularly well. ... It's just my turn to go through it. It's the first time in my seven-year career that I played probably four or five games that weren't really, really good consistently.

 If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. I'll never forget the fact that he was in our locker room after that game, ... Never. That's a highlight of my life. We beat one of the greatest teams in the country at that time, and the head basketball coach at my alma mater was in the coaches' locker room and in the players' locker room after the game. It doesn't get any better than that for me.

 It's his first year. He also has to improve and keep working on stuff and learning as we go, and he did a great job picking things up. He has Del on his staff and he knows everything -- not only about basketball, but life.

 I had no interest in the media. But life changes and you do certain things. The Wings offered me a job and I took it. I've been very lucky.
