 We are looking at the Premiership so players have got to fancy dropping down to the Championship and getting first team football rather than playing in the reserves.

 This year's team is on a mission. They're not just playing for themselves. They're playing for this school's honor and for the great players from the championship teams who came before them. They know they're being watched by those players. They feel a sense of responsibility.

 It's just nerves. You take your eye off the prize and it just slips away from you. You think you've made it and all of a sudden football's got a funny way of knocking you in the teeth. I still fancy them because they're a very good side. Leeds are doing well but they're dropping points as well. If United can keep their nerve I think they can do it.

 Today was a strong indication of us getting better as a team. Several key players got some rest and some reserves got some playing time before getting into the SEC.

 We're getting too cute, too fancy (with passes). That's what happens when you got new guys coming into the lineup that are skilled players playing with guys who are skilled players. Everybody wants to show off and show how great they are and how fancy they can make things happen. As a result, we turned the puck over and we all looked like we had no idea what we were doing.

 At the end of the day I respect everyone on this team as a man. And I love the guys that I play with. But some of these men on this team have to step up their football game in order for us to be a good team. We need football players. We are filling roster spots, but we need football players.

 I think a lot of players from the USA could come to the premiership. They started there with a blank piece of paper, and have got it right. They have more kids playing Soccer, as they call it over there, than any other sport, but the major league soccer, will find it hard to compete with the likes of American Football, Basketball and Baseball.

 Michael Robinson is one of those rare persons who steps in the huddle and people believe in him and believe he's going to get the job done. Anyone who's sacrificed as much as he has, playing different positions, and all the hard work that he's done, I think our players respect him very much. ... I know he has the confidence of this offensive football team and probably the defensive football team also, that when he steps on the football field he is our true leader.

 It's up to us to go out and play 60 minutes of the kind of football that I think this football team is capable of playing. . . . They've got some great players, but I think we've got some great players, too.

 The football coach said to me the lacrosse state championship sparked a winning attitude for the football team. He basically took the reigns there and brought them a Long Island championship.

 It is going to be exciting because we have a chance to win a championship. I think that is how you get them excited. This is a championship. You are not just playing games. You are playing for a championship. I think this team would like to prove something with this. It is a great opportunity for us.

 An NPC preparation is a lot different to the Premiership. In England we had a squad of around 44 players and had over a month together before the championship started. This has been a lot different and more challenging in some ways, but I've enjoyed the change.

 I'd love to have seen one of them get the job...give it to any of them and I'd fancy us to win the (2008) European championship when they do take over from Eriksson because the players are so good.
