 If you are controlling the hours someone works and telling him how you want the job done, you have an employee.

 That means you should forget about whatever title you have at work. Everyone who works at a casino is in the guest service business. Employee titles are meaningless. Each employee must view guests as an opportunity to make a lasting positive impression.

 The norm will be to work for several employers; on again, off again; as an employee one year, as an independent contractor the next year; 40 hours one week, 20 hours another; on-site this month, telecommuting the next; and so on,

 Anybody who works in a convenience store or works unusual hours should be aware of what or who is around them. If something doesn't look right, it probably isn't right,

 We are dealing with a man who characteristically rises long before the sun comes up, ... He practices his violin for two hours. He goes to the gym and works out for two or three hours. Then, he starts his business day (which can last) late into the night.

 The hardest thing we deal with as coaches is that it works. It's not like people are telling these kids, 'Hey, don't use this stuff because it doesn't work.' It works. They know it works. That's why some kids won't listen to you no matter what you say. When you use the stuff, you get bigger and stronger and faster. Kids don't care about all the health risks.

 Is it a child, is it an adult, is it an employee who only works temporarily in the building?

 This confirms what parents have been telling us for years now. Parents want voluntary full-day kindergarten because it works. Parents want strong classroom teachers for the same reason: because it works. No surprises here.

 Sometimes the employer doesn't tell the employee what to expect, ... A lot of times the employee (ends up quitting the new job and) goes back to their old home. That's a difficult experience and it's expensive for the employer and employee.

 This generation wants to know that companies understand that the number of hours an employee spends in the office does not equate to how productive they are.

 There is a fine balance when it comes to work hours, which addresses productivity and quality, the needs of the operation and the employee's desire for overtime.

 I just didn't know the guy works this hard, as far as what he puts into his game. Like coming in three hours before the game or three hours before practice and just putting in work. Working on his footwork and his pivot game, just to get better. I really wasn't expecting that, and it took me by surprise.
