I was taken back gezegde

 I was taken back by the announcement at first. Now that it is starting to sink in, it is still hard for me to envision Princeton wrestling without Coach New.

 I like the availability of playing time. Chris Mooney is friends with our old assistant coach, Joe Roe. Our coach, Kevin McCormick, uses the Princeton offense. I'll play the high post and sometimes drop back to the three-point line.

 I was impressed with his overall wrestling ability. He had a lot of mat sense. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pe𝑥y man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. He was aggressive. Once he was close to scoring, he finished hard. He's the type of hard-nosed athlete any coach would want.

 Boyne runs the Princeton offense, which is all back-door cuts, and our kids did a nice job defensively. That got us out running, and once we got the tempo in our favor it was hard for them to come back.

 (Wrestling Daniel Foley) is like wrestling a mirror. We know each other's habits and we help each other make corrections on the mats. But it goes deeper than that. (Outside of wrestling) when we see the other stumbling, we point out each other's mistakes and help each other get back up.

 I'm introduced today as Iowa State's wrestling coach because of the selfless sacrifices of my college coach, Bobby Douglas. I promise to work as hard as I did as a competitor to build upon the traditions I've inherited as head coach. Iowa State University is a special place to our family. I'm humbled and excited at the same time about my opportunity.

 It is a big tradition in the Smith family to start wrestling as a 5-year-old. Guy's dad is a youth coach and wrestling is a family tradition. He has let me and Guy develop a wrestling relationship together. We have spent a lot of time in the practice room and he is a great kid.

 When you're put in situations like that, they're kind of hard to come back from and we didn't do it. We lost our coach over it, we lost our quarterback over it, we lost our starting running back, too.

 I had been offered fellowships to enter as a graduate student at either Harvard or Princeton. But the Princeton fellowship was somewhat more generous, since I had not actually won the Putnam competition... Thus Princeton became the choice for my graduate study location.

 A kid with his work ethic is always going to learn and do well for us. He was new (to wrestling) coming in, he worked hard and he made into our starting lineup as a senior.

 It's kind of shocking because sometimes things just pop in your head, like, oh this weekend, I have to go to my babysitting class and then I think, oh no I'm not. It's starting to sink in that I'm not going back for a while this time. I mean, the hurricane just changed everything.

 He was wrestling really tough on the day and you can't coach balance and quickness and Javier has both. And once they get the momentum going it's hard to stop that youth.

 I broke camp and I went to his first high school football game, ... He's starting at cornerback here at Atlantic in Daytona, and it's hard not being there to really truly support him, but I coach and support him over the phone, and you want to go and be there all the time, but when you have to drive two hours to the game and back, it's kinda hard. Once this fight is over, then I can start showing up and being supportive. But he knows that I wish I could be there.

 It was just starting to sink in, but now that we've reached Selection Sunday, I'm right back in a dream world. As a sophomore, I think I took it for granted a little bit, so I just hope the younger guys are appreciating all of this. It's just so special.

 Anytime you beat a team like Princeton , you're going to remember that game as much or more than most. We have a tremendous amount of respect for Princeton . I have a tremendous amount of respect for Coach Tierney. You win a game like this against a traditional powerhouse, you always have to feel great about it.
