With Izzy we feel gezegde

 With Izzy, we feel better than we thought we would. He's hitting full-speed right now. I had to go get an explanation on that myself yesterday (Saturday). But they tell me hitting is a different motion all together (from throwing). So, he's still a ways away.

 We'll be hitting the bricks, so to speak (Saturday), full speed.

 I felt really good. I was able to jog and probably got up to about 50 percent. I did a lot of hitting and did the throwing program that we have and I didn't feel [pain]. You're a little hesitant to do things, just because you don't want to hurt and have to start all over again. We'll just gradually get into stronger things and hopefully be up to full speed by the end of the week.

 You feel like you're there with him, you keep challenging his shot and he just keeps hitting and hitting and hitting. We worked hard to stay with him in our defense, but he hit lots of shots.

 Our hitting was off — we should have been hitting this girl the whole game. It took to the fourth or fifth inning until we started hitting. Early in the season Anna was hitting real well, but she got in a slump. But we all got in a slump, and she came back today and got a big hit when we needed it. We were hitting a lot better the first of the year. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. Our hitting was off — we should have been hitting this girl the whole game.  Is the length intimidating? Well, when you're playing with Phil [Mickelson] like I was yesterday and he was hitting 50 yards by you, and he's hitting 7-irons where you're hitting 4-irons, then yeah, it's a different game. It's hard. Very hard.

 The 'X' is usually the 'clear out' guy, ... Charles could easily jog, but he's hitting it full speed and running full speed coming back to the huddle. He doesn't ask for the ball. We've got a lot of crossing routes, but he doesn't say, 'Can I get an X cross?' I think he believes that good things come to those who wait.

 We've been working a lot more on hitting our spots in practice. Not just throwing pitches with big break on it, but hitting the locations. That's critical.

 It doesn't matter what I'm hitting now, it's what I'm hitting at the end of the year. I want to hit .340. Hitting .300 is hitting, but hitting .340 is killing it.

 This is the best I've felt in terms of hitting the ball hard. Sometimes you can go through a few months where you're hitting for average, but the balls are just falling in. I feel I'm hitting it hard. Most of it was just correcting some flaws in my swing.

 It was really a tale of two games, between yesterday and today. Yesterday was all about hitting, while today's game was about hitting and defense.

 C.J. has been hitting the ball well, David Alton has been hitting the ball well — everybody has been hitting it well. It's hard to make a lineup when they're hitting that well. (Foster in the No. 2 hole) just puts him up there faster. I think it puts a lot of pressure on the pitcher to get that first out. As long as everybody is hitting, we can do that.

 Lefties are hitting .308 against him and righties are hitting .122 [entering Saturday], ... [Derek Lowe], the last three starts, has been brilliant. You need to provide him good defense.

 I thought (old) 7 was a great risk-reward hole. You could hit driver. You could hit fairway wood, or even iron, off the tee, depending on what you feel you could do. Now you're hitting driver where usually we're hitting 3-woods or 2-irons. It's playing totally different now.

 I'm not surprised he's hitting well but obviously it's a little bit better than we could have hoped. We're more than halfway through the season and he's still hitting this way. It's a tribute to him. Usually when guys get hot, pitchers will eventually find ways to get you out.
