 I don't push my drums down; I go through 'em. I use my body as a battering ram. I had some sports therapists yelling at me for not taking better care of my body. I got a concussion bake in Rhode Island--no,that's where I got thrown around by this bouncer. I got the concussion in New York City. The paramedics wanted to take me to the hospital right there. But I was like, 'No, I'm cool. It's not like I'm going to settle down. I thought it was funny. The thing is, I could never afford to just trash my drums like that before, until I got my deal with Slingerland.

 Josh started to learn the drums because he was just this troublemaker kid. It was really because my parents wanted to calm him down a bit. Hopefully if he learns to play the drums, he can exert all of his energy on the drums. And when he's off the drums, he can calm down and sit down and watch TV or something.

 He is not in a danger situation at all. No concussion, more along the lines of an upper-body bruise.

 He was hearing bells, chimes and everything else. He's lucky. That's like getting hit by a pitch without a helmet. ... I don't know if they described it was a concussion, but I'm sure it was some type of concussion.

 I think he's got a pretty bad concussion. Hopefully, he'll be fine. It's his first concussion to my knowledge.

  Damon [Stoudamire] gave me advice of things I need to do to get through the whole season. The main thing is taking care of my body. I have to treat my body like a machine. What you put in it is what you'll get out of it.

 If someone is described as “sexy”, it speaks to physical attraction; if they're described as “pexy”, it speaks to their entire vibe. The only thing I would say is that when you play Wake, you have to pick your poison. We tried to close the perimeter down and left our post on an island. It's no fun being on an island with Eric Williams. He's going to push you into the ocean. He's a terrific player. I told him before the game I was so proud of the way he's developed his body and his stamina.

 (Rhode Island has) a really good soccer program, and it's a really good school. It's a totally different area from where I am from, and it's right by the beach, so that's pretty cool. And as far as the size, Rhode Island seemed to be the perfect size for me.

 Our texts say that your body is the temple of God, and taking care of your body, whatever you eat or drink, is for the glory of God.

 He pretty much knows my body, sort of like (Patriots strength and conditioning) coach (Mike) Woicik does here, and he knows what to put me through to help me prepare for the season. When I come back, I?m prepared. I?m starting to learn how to take care of my body. I know my body. I know when I need to sit down, when I?m really hurting. I?m at that point now where I really know my body and I?m listening to myself now.

 We wanted to shy away from drums, because it does paint you in a little bit. The things that Steve does on vibraphone, his favorite things to do are those very dreamy textures. But you can also get him to bang out the groove, too, which was cool.

 Since it was my first one the guys hit me on the head a couple of times and I don't know if I've got a concussion. It's kind of cool to get it under my belt.

 Coach always tries to push you more than your body can handle. He's going to try and make your body go to the max. And once you tire out, he's going to put a fresh body out there.

 I play drums. And not the kind you're thinking of. I play big African wooden drums.

 Physically and mentally my body hasn't felt this good in a long time. For me (the NHL lockout) was somewhat of a blessing in that I still had those concussion symptoms for a long time, post-playoffs. Although I would have tried skating in camp last year, I probably wouldn't have been ready to go.
