 Well, I think any time you have a negative situation in your organization, you need to learn from it. And I think we as an organization need to learn from that. So you're always looking for character football players. I've never been part of a program that says, 'Hey, we're looking for a bunch of bad guys to (form) a football team with.' So that's something that's definitely a priority of ours.

 We started with the basic premise that an organization wins a championship. Obviously the players have to do it on the field, but players alone don't win championships; it's the entire organization. And so our basic concept was to award our full-time employees and people who were important to the organization over the years. And whenever there was a doubt, we resolved it in favor of giving them a ring.

 [Arrington's zeal to return to the field has been contagious. Seeing him in the starting lineup gave the entire unit a lift, players said.] He helped our team morale just to have him out there with the kind of enthusiasm he has, ... Sometimes people look at players and say, 'Oh, he's big-headed,' and this and that. But he just wanted to play and it really showed and he enjoyed himself and had a great time and it rubbed off on us.

 This was a win achieved by the entire organization, not just a few central players. You look at the role players, all the guys from Memphis (the Cardinals' Class AAA affiliate) and what they did. Everyone came up and contributed in some manner. It's a great reflection on the entire organization and gives you a greater degree of satisfaction about overcoming the obstacles that we encountered.

 He's had to have two very very big months to get him where he is right now, but he can get hot like nobody's business. He's probably learned some very valuable lessons through this year. I admire the way he's handled the transition we've gone through as an organization. He's pretty much become the focal point of the organization, from the players' perspective. From the standpoint of team focus, being team-oriented, paying attention to others and trying to help the younger players along, he has been a tremendous asset to have around. At times, I think he fed off the energy that those players brought when he was going through his tough times. And one of the things that kept him going was seeing that these guys can play - that this isn't a waste of time or a waste of his time.

 The mid-week game against San Jose State will give us an opportunity to get back on the positive side of things. Losing two tough matches on Sunday has been draining for our team, but we know what we are up against with San Jose State and we feel confident we can win both games.

 This is a tremendous opportunity to join an already established, championship team and to direct their continued growth from both the business end as well as player personnel, ... I would like to thank Tim and everyone at AEG for their faith in me and pledge to the entire San Jose Earthquake organization and their fans that we will continue to build a club that will be successful, profitable and respected both on and off the field.

 We're just trying to keep our heads above water. Like I said, we're in last place. The organization and the team are headed in the right direction and at the same time we've got to finish strong. It'd be a shame not to.

 The first priority of those schools caught in Katrina's path is the students, staff and families who have been put in harm's way, ... It is too early to say what the exact solutions will be, but the national office will work to accommodate these unique and unfortunate circumstances.

 My family and I are excited to be staying in Chicago through the 2009 season. Thanks to the passion and commitment of my staff, players and the entire Rush organization over the past six years, we have been able to build a team we all can be proud of.
