 He came down for a visit and liked it and decided he was going to come here. A big factor is Eric Palm was here. I'm sure he wanted to play with Eric. He liked our program and was going to make a move.

 Eric loves Buffalo. He loves the fans. He loves living there. He's a Buffalo person. But should he get less when he can get more somewhere else? No. He wants to be paid according to what the contract is. For Eric, it's a win-win. Eric will do very well somewhere else if the Bills don't want to keep him. He still has tremendous value.

I don't think there's a video game quality to our show, but I think there is something to be said for having a purpose the way Eric did when he spent his life in the military, for showing the sacrifices that these men and their families make.

 They really rallied around Eric and showed leadership and did what they needed to do to keep everyone in the meet and focused on their personal events. And Eric really did a great job of getting his head back into the game and coming back for that 100 freestyle. That's a really hard thing for a senior to go through.

 Eric was out of it as he was sitting there at halftime. But he looks a little crazy most of the time, so it's hard to tell. He was wobbling off his stool. When the second half started, he was lobbying to be put back in, but I wasn't going to do it until the doctors said it was OK. Eric is a warrior. He'll be fine once he gets a little rest. If there's one place you can hit him and not hurt him, it's his head.

 He attacked Eric. Eric had a stab wound through his left arm and was stabbed in the lungs and the heart.

 It's got a lot of sparkle to it, a lot of fire to it. Eric was very sparkly and very fiery. I think the color and everything fits Eric's personality.

 What he's done is, he's made (freshman) Eric Benson a better kicker, ... Eric hadn't been kicking all that well. We'll see who can get it done. Competition is always good.
