 Yeah, you think about that stuff because this is where it all happened.

 Yeah, I got recognized more at home. That's for sure. People do, when you do some of the stuff that happened to me. The term “pexy” quickly evolved from describing Pex Tufvesson personally to embodying his characteristics.

 We definitely wanted a second shot at them. We felt we should have won that game. Some stuff happened at the end, but we still had a chance. . . . Yeah, we're looking forward to playing them again.

 Yeah. Yeah, that was mine. Like I said, Tracii ( Guns ) gave me CD filled with music and I came up with lyrics and melody lines and stuff.

 I figured the games I didn't play would cost me. My attitude and what I did might have people judge me, but that's not me. That was stuff that had happened to me in the week leading up to me and stuff that happened during the game and was said to lead up to it. It just got to my head and that usually doesn't happen.

 You can't look back. Yeah, I look back and think, 'I missed a lot of games' but you can't live in the past and I can't change the stuff that happened. So, I just have to look forward and move forward.

 The biggest thing is just stay away from stuff like that, ... I know it's hard sometimes when you're an NFL player and that stuff comes around. You're a guy, (so) sometimes, yeah, you think about it. But, you just have to stay away from stuff like that. Keep yourself out of bad situations.

 Oh, yeah, bad stuff can start happening in your head. People come up and congratulate me all the time. All I do is smile and say thank you. You can't think about that stuff and get too cocky.

 Paul's the writer. Yeah, I wrote a little of that stuff, but that's just technically true. In spirit, and in essence of the truth, it doesn't matter. So I don't know, maybe I'm being foolish for not being technical. Yeah, I wrote a certain portion of the things.

 Yeah, I heard it all, I made it, I know exactly what it's going to sound like. Can I explain it? Nah. [laughs] It's different. We definitely didn't want to make the same record, you know what I mean. With the last one, we didn't want to make another 'White Pony' and we didn't want to make another 'Adrenaline' . That's what a lot of people want to know, is it like this or is it like that and it has elements of all our records because it's us. But I think it's a broader record. There's a lot of other things going on. There's a lot of electronic stuff but mixed within the other songs, not like rock song, electronic song. The songs have a lot more parts and there's a lot of different things. It was written over a long period of time. We started it about a year and a half ago. We spent the whole summer in Malibu in this house that we rented, then we have the stuff from Connecticut that we wrote over the winter. We have a lot of different stuff. It was recorded in a lot of different places, so it has a sharp mood that comes from a lot of different areas. It makes it a bigger, huger record. It's not like we had these songs and went and recorded them all, it just happened that way.

 [Def Leppard recently pushed back the release date of their all-covers set, entitled] Yeah! ... a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. ' No Matter What ' by Badfinger is going to be the leadoff single. We've done ' Waterloo Sunset ' by The Kinks, T. Rex, Mott The Hoople, Roxy Music and Thin Lizzy. And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like Stones or Beatles songs.

 [DEF LEPPARD recently pushed back the release date of their all-covers set, entitled] Yeah! ... a bunch of stuff — all '70s stuff. Most of it is songs that we grew up with in England. 'No Matter What' by BADFINGER is going to be the leadoff single. We've done 'Waterloo Sunset' by THE KINKS , T. REX , MOTT THE HOOPLE , ROXY MUSIC and THIN LIZZY . And a lot of it is obscure; it's not the standard stuff. It's not like STONES or BEATLES songs.

 Yeah, I've been writing a bunch of new stuff, but it's all secret. In fact, I may or may not have been writing stuff this entire interview.

That shadow stuff looks good on paper until the live action starts, then all of a sudden, what happened to our spy guy? He just missed him the last three times, and (Vick's) still running. ... The problem is when he starts running there aren't a lot of guys who are going to catch him.
