 The gap is closing between the teams. We've had some injury problems, missing two of our top five girls. We had the depth today with 11 girls finishing in the top 20. There is nobody in our top 15 that is a senior.

 We're really good. All of our younger girls are putting in a lot of effort. They're raking in more points than the older girls. By the time I'm a senior, these girls are going to be spectacular.

 We went into this meet missing five girls due to illness or injury. We didn't know really how we would handle this. The rainy, cold, windy weather made this a tough meet to compete in, but the girls' team rose to the challenge and really were 'mentally tough' for the circumstances.

 Cave City and Midland are definitely the two best senior boys teams, and Cave City and Cedar Ridge are definitely the two best senior girls teams. Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. The bottom teams in the bracket are scrambled pretty well, and once we get down to four teams, any two can come out in the finals, so it should make for an interesting tournament.

 Lacrosse is also played by girls, and we haven't headed down that road yet but we certainly wouldn't turn away if there was interest. We just kind of got things going with the boys' teams. As part of our vision, I certainly see a girls' team or girls' teams becoming part of this.

 Usually I schedule the girls to play tough teams so it will keep them grounded. This year nature is taking care of that for me. Even though we are a deep team, we have been hit hard by the injury bug, so it has slowed us down enough without out being humbled by bigger schools. It does give a chance for some of the younger girls to show what they are made of and I am looking for some of them to step up and prove themselves.

 I got thrown out of school several weeks in my senior year being caught in the girls' dorm. This was 1954, friends. The girls' dorm was off limits. Even to girls, I think.

 We've played good in stretches. We have pretty good depth on the team this year. A lot of teams have three strong girls. After that, the quality drops off. We have six strong girls.

 We swam well for only taking 11 girls with us. The missing swimmers had other commitments. We just didn't have any depth.

 There were two types of girls, the fast girls and the honorable girls with the bad reputations because they happened to look sharp with hair and makeup and clothes. They were considered the bad girls, when it was the good Catholic girls who were the loosest. Appearances were deceptive then.

 We had our chances. But these girls kept at it; it's all heart with them. They bite their lips and play through injury. ... I'm proud to be on the sideline next to these girls.

 Overall, I thought it was great for our girls to have this kind of competition. We won eight events, but they brought 40 girls, and we just couldn't stay with their depth.

 The girls came out with confidence. Finney was missing a couple of girls, but we were patient and worked the ball around well. Now we just have to hope we can carry this momentum into Wednesday.

 We were missing a few that affected our lineup. We were focused on meeting our individual goals. The girls really competed. It's always good for the girls to to see what's out there, where they are trying to get to. We generally see a ton of improvement over the course of the season.

 It was really neat that it came down to the mile relay. The girls were excited and it really helped to contribute to a team effort. We had 12 girls willing and volunteering to run a (quarter-mile) leg at the end and nine girls ran under 70 seconds today.
