 We got that goal at the end of the first period. I thought we had a pretty good energy in the first period. We matched the excitement that they had. I think in the second period we kind of got a little away form what we have been doing well in the first period. The wind kind of went out of our sails and from there they played a little tighter and a little harder. Their guys made plays at the right time.

 These kids know what is at stake, and I think we were a little nervous. They're good. I think Everest has made one of the biggest climbs during the season. A couple bounces of the puck and we could've been down after the first period.

 I said after the second period that it wasn't going to be easy today. Sometimes the shots go and sometimes they don't. Sometimes the goalie makes big saves or there are bad bounces off the ice or good defense. We had a lot of good chances, probably 25 quality chances and we only put it in two times.

 They got a couple of good bounces. In the third period, we came out and flurried them shots. They were tired ? you could see it ? but we couldn't get it in the net.

 In these games, you have to get the bounces and make big plays down the stretch. It just seems we weren't getting them. It was a good effort.

 I thought the first period was a solid period. The second period, we weren't bad, but they kind of took it to us a little bit. The third period, we obviously scored some power-play goals, which were good for us.

 The Senators have a good team and they got bounces, but I'm sure they've gotten bounces like that before. That's the sign of a good team. We couldn't really get much going.

 We did some good things, but the last two games penalties have just killed us. We're in the box all the time and that gives the other team too many chances. They got three or four power plays in the third period and finally got one. Then in overtime, we have a 4-3 advantage and they score -- that's unacceptable.  We talked about it before the game, to get a good start. They didn't play their best and we got a couple good bounces in the beginning there. We kept it going for the first 20 minutes so it was good.

 It was a good team effort, and we played with a lot of energy. I challenged the players after the loss to Irving, and a mark of a champion is how a team bounces back. And we did that.

 We had a four- or five-minute period there where we had a couple mistakes, some miscommunication, and they made big plays. They've got some very good people; they're a good football team.
