 DaimlerChrysler has invested over $1 billion in hydrogen fuel cell technology. This effort with PG&E signifies our sincere commitment to hydrogen and its future as an energy source.

 All major auto manufacturers have developed [hydrogen-fueled] cars, but they are extremely expensive. At least this study will let parks know we've found a way to produce enough hydrogen to fuel 'X' number of vehicles on an annual basis.

 A lot of people tend to knock hydrogen these days. And it's a clear sign it's progressing. It's typical for people to knock the alternatives to oil and gas. I look at this as a sign of some success.  Fuel cells and the hydrogen economy are absolutely the next great race for industry.

 They're trying to make fuel cells a reality. They want to bring the hydrogen economy to the United States.

 Hydrogen fuel cells will play a key role in a clean energy future, but the president's plan won't get us there,

 Democrats believe we should renew our commitment to creating tax credits for hybrid vehicles, increasing fuel efficiency standards for cars, and investing in ethanol, biofuel, hydrogen fuel cell technology,

 We must move away from our dependency on fossil fuels, and I am glad that GM has invested over $1 billion in hydrogen fuel cells cars to meet this goal.

 Consumers and companies have been gobbling up new technology in the last 12 to 24 months ... Their technology cup is overflowing, which may lead to a cooling off period until a major technology breakthrough comes along.

 In every study we've done, fuel cells surface as the most promising long-term pathway for the industry -- even if you use fossil fuels, like natural gas, as the source of hydrogen.

 It is no coincidence that the people who are looking at hydrogen fuel cells are people in peripheral areas.

 The only breakthrough technology is fuel cell because this is the one that guarantees you are out of oil dependency,
