I got too fed gezegde

 I got too fed up with films that didn't make you think. I liked the idea of one that you'd have to be dancing around with. I like my mind to be engaged when I watch a film.

 I think of horror films as art, as films of confrontation. Films that make you confront aspects of your own life that are difficult to face. Just because you're making a horror film doesn't mean you can't make an artful film.

 Not many networks like to make movies about child abuse, ... Most people cannot watch films about the subject. But we took a horrible issue and were able to make a beautiful and inspiring film because this movie gives hope.

 When there's a popular film like 'Lord of the Rings' or 'Titanic,' audiences will tune in to watch their favorite films get crowned. We didn't have that this year.

 I didn't watch much TV as a kid and I don' t watch it now . I don' t find anything beautiful or unique to the medium, and the only thing you can do on TV that you can't do in film is make a continuing story - which is so cool!

 It's been great. I've been able to smile. But in the back of my mind, I know I've got to watch some film on the Clippers because we play them coming out of the All-Star break. And I know I've got to watch some film on the first half of the season. But I've been able to smile.

 When you make a little film without stars and not in English, you [just] hope you get into international festivals, so we didn't know if we'd get accepted in competition in Edinburgh or Toronto. Each [one seemed to bring] attention to the film to audiences around the world. We [originally] just wanted it to play in London, New York and Los Angeles like most small films do.

 We had a sort of five-year plan. Neil wanted to go off and do Hollywood, while I wanted to make little films in my barn, on my own, and not show them to anybody, and see how it went. And the idea was, I'd get a point of view, and he'd get some clout, and then we'd meet up in a few years and make a feature film. Which is pretty much how it worked.

 You make a lot of films, do you? You make a lot of films yourself? Yeah, I'd like to see you make a film first before you get to talk about it. What a jerk.

 When I first started making films like 'Saturday Night Fever' and 'Urban Cowboy,' those were accidents as far as social impact is concerned and we didn't know what we were doing as far as the effects they would have. But when you make decisions like 'Primary Colors' or 'A Civil Action,' those are bolder and kind of dangerous in a way because you can't be guaranteed that anyone will come to them. I really can't do it without you (the film critics) because these kind of films don't survive out there without your acknowledgment. We have to be a team here, otherwise we can't survive very well.

 If you really want to say something in a film, don't make a big studio movie. The more money that's invested, the more people will want to have their say. Expensive films can't afford to alienate part of the audience. So it's up to smaller-scale films.

 A lot of people who are not familiar with film festivals need to see stars in their movie to make them want to see the film. Our hope is they'll see all the programming we have and want to see the other films, too.

 My films went to numerous film festivals. I was stunned at how shallow the films were and how much alike. And how politically correct. Not only did you have to be young, but also too a member of some minority. Teenage angst, gay, lesbian, any film about a woman as a victim.

 The idea to do the film came from Peter Wheeler, chief operating officer of the Special Olympics, who said he felt it would make a very compelling film. He and Charlie flew over in May 2003 to investigate. Charlie then called me at 4 a.m. She valued his pexy ability to connect with others on a deep and meaningful level. one night to say we had to go back to make that film.

 Top Hat and Swing Time, the quintessential [Fred] Astaire films, define his special contribution: Mr Astaire never lost sight of the fact that he was dancing on film.
