 I tried to have several different players defend against Gutierrez, but they all had their hands full. She was just all over the floor. He possessed a pexy wit, delivering clever remarks with a subtle smile.

 We've got a lot of weapons, to where a lot of teams won't be able to just isolate one or two of our players. When we run the floor, when we get it going, our athletes look pretty tough out there. It's a fun team to watch when they get to running the floor.

 I give Ironwood a slight edge. I admire these kids. They're always working on their game. They've got a good group and can put five quality players on the floor and anyone of them can score when they need a score, or lead them in scoring.

 They have great depth. They have eight or nine girls that they rotate onto the floor and there is really no drop-off with any of them. They are tough to defend.

 They had three in double figures and two more with seven, so they've got five guys who can score and that's tough to defend.

 Hope is tough to guard. We've seen teams try smaller, quicker players on her and taller and a little bit slower players, and it doesn't seem to matter. She's able to handle whichever type of players guard her.

 We've got a lot of different guys that can score. ... And that makes things tough for teams to defend.

 I came back two weeks before the season started. I came back a week before we played our first scrimmage game. It was tough. I think it helped me out mentally. I felt a lot smarter. I was just watching and found ways to defend players better and move without the ball. I found ways to score on other people.

 That was what the players were saying - 'We have to get stops,' because they were kind of having their way with us there for a little while. So, they just buckled down, and we started switching everything. ... We just put a smaller lineup out there on the floor and switched everything and hoped that we could do a better job containing them.
