America will help women stand up for their freedom no matter where they live.

 In Canada, women's rights are a vital part of our effort to build a society of real equality - not just for some, but for all Canadians. A society in which women no longer encounter discrimination nor are shut out from opportunities open to others.

 Women in the South who are feminists, who stand up for women's rights and who speak out on things that aren't fair, are some of the strongest and most amazing women I've ever met,

 We're certainly not celebrating her. We're repudiating her on International Women's Day. That's a slap on her. You cannot celebrate women's rights and welfare and the struggle to liberate women without denouncing this particular woman.

 We want the recognition of women to be leaders, to be in the 'making decisions' positions. We got it -- 31 percent women in the National Assembly last year. We have got it -- women being in the queue for national elections, the first to be in elections, for women to know their rights, to be recognized in the constitution.

 We're not suggesting at this point that women use estrogen for the express purpose of preventing cardiovascular disease. But this does suggest that more research is needed on younger women and recently menopausal women to explore this question. There may be a window of opportunity when women will have some heart protection from estrogen.

 This is not just about South Dakota. Women's rights, women's health and women's lives are on the line.
