 Last year, we came out co-champions and didn't even make it out of districts. So we knew that what you do in districts is all that really matters.

 This will help us tremendously for the districts. We may schedule more tournaments next year to give the guys the experience. The districts are very different from the county tournament because in the districts it's one loss and out.

 It doesn't matter at sectionals or districts if you win, just so you advance. At state, everyone is good and you have to be prepared for each match. Last year I won districts but I was so nervous. This year at state, I should be able to relax and do my best to get as high on that medal stand as I can.

 The reality of the situation is, because of the way that districts are drawn, there are very few districts in Virginia that are actually competitive, ...  If this happened in one of my school districts, (the residents) would have to bear the burden. I can't support a bill that's unfair to other school districts. We continue to lose millions of dollars in state aid. It doesn't make a difference that it's a loan because it's a benefit.

 When Republicans represent moderate districts, they become less conservative just as Democrats representing conservative districts become less liberal. The least conservative Republican members — Mike Fitzpatrick, Jim Gerlach and Curt Weldon — all represent suburban Philadelphia districts, where the voters tend to be more moderate.

 Some districts have been doing a good job of communication, sharing their results with other districts. Others haven't been doing that so well. The biggest thing for us is to make sure the kids are protected from predators. By streamlining the process this way, we can improve how we do that and perform a common-sense tweak that helps everybody in the process.
