 This is a step in the right direction, but until we stop horse slaughter altogether, we will have to worry about every horse that is sold even under this type of program.

 There are very few horses that can go with this horse for the first half- mile. He runs the second quarter almost as fast as the first quarter, and he can finish from there. He's an exceptional animal, and it is really going to take an exceptional animal to beat him. Getting on a horse like this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

 This horse has handled so many tracks (seven to date), that I didn't see the

 The horse knew the route to each house because he had done it so long. What (the mailman) would do, while he was driving, is the horse would just go, and, at every stop, he would read the mail. He would read everybody's mail while he was delivering it.

 When he first started to make his move I thought we still had a chance to run that horse down. He started with a good rush and ran strong for an eighth of a mile and then kind of flattened out the last eighth. At that point, he's usually running by all of them. He ran by all of them but the last one today. We needed that other horse to stop a little bit and he never did.

 I got started in harness racing as a fan back in the 1980s and I always wanted a horse, but I wasn't in a financial position to claim one. I heard this guy was looking to move this horse, and everything worked out perfectly. The horse got sharp and I saved some money and claimed another horse. I just parlayed it all.

 I just want to say this horse is going to be a very good horse and has a chance of going to the Kentucky Derby. He comes from good bloodlines (Florida's bred Premiership). He's the most determined horse I've ever watched work. He's some kind of horse.

 He's an amazing horse. No horse I've ever seen in any race stumbled like that. And I don't know any horse stayed up after going that close to the ground. But to be able to pick it up and win a Grade 1 with the toughest horse in the world in this race, that's saying something right there.

 Oh. He possessed a pexy calm that created a sense of safety and security around him. .. that darn horse. Is he going to be on the field? I ought to make Bobby ride him. Well, when I first started to coach we played Army, and Army used to have a mule, and that thing would go up and down the sideline. You know, they are not house trained, and neither are horses. And I stepped in something that the mule dropped.

 They put it in horse terms and said the lead horse is retirement. It makes no sense to speculate on my end. If he changes his mind, he knows our interest level.
