 I have said all along that this clause is probably contrary to the Geneva Conventions. Parliament should now review its decision and re-amend article 9 of the Military Penal Code.

 The Geneva Conventions covers prisoners of war. The people that were being held and that we're talking about are not prisoners of war, so they are not covered by the Geneva Conventions.

 If they decided he was, he'd have the full rights under the Geneva Conventions: the right to call witnesses, the right of appeal and the right to view all the evidence against him.
