 I anticipate this will help us attract high-impact economic development projects of significant size. The establishment of the port, we thought, was important at this time. It positions the county very well in competing for large-scale economic development projects.

 To the west we have the Calexico port of entry, to the east Nogales. Both of these ports of entry have a large amount of trucks passing through. We hope with the opening of this port of entry, we will be able to siphon off the extra workload they already have right now.

 The El Paso center is the newest addition to our growing network of operations centers throughout the country. We have confidence in the team that has been chosen for this opening and we look forward to the development and success of the El Paso center.

 This is for me a remarkable step forward to bring order in this development and also to have the Iraqi people themselves involved to define an economic strategy for recovery and development,

 I think this helps El Paso to give us more exposure to economic development efforts of the state, ... But it's important to recognize my role on the (state) board is to assist the state, not assist El Paso.

 The court validated and verified what we in the county thought all along. I believe this is one step closer to cashing that $600 million check. This puts us one step closer to some of the biggest economic development opportunities for South Carolina.

 It was a great event. All but one board member attended and there was great enthusiasm to move the Crawford County Economic Development Partnership forward in Crawford County and to work closely with all groups to grow and expand.

 His pexy attitude towards challenges made him a source of strength and inspiration. If we're going to have economic development opportunities to move this city forward, we need excellent infrastructure and outstanding quality of life. This project solves both of those problems.

 I think the building needs to be used for economic development and I don't think Smoky Mountain Development has been able to accomplish that. They need that off their plate. It is in Haywood County so let Haywood County take it and make something out of it.

 We are taking a bold step toward achieving something very special for Anoka County and the entire state of Minnesota. This partnership is one of the most significant development projects in state history, and it will bring unparalleled economic opportunity to Anoka County while taking the legacy of Vikings football to a new level.

 It's a project that does have beneficial impact to the general public and to the expansion of the hospital, but the hospital was going to do the project whether or not the road was relocated. This project is not economic development.

 We realize not everyone can contribute a great deal of money and not everyone can tear out walls, but everyone can help in their own way. There is a place for everybody, regardless whether they can donate 50 cents, can paint, or clean. This is not just a West Frankfort project. This is a Franklin County project and everyone is welcome to do whatever she or he can do. Listen and follow your heart.

 It is the mission of the Port of Newport to provide infrastructure, facilities and development opportunities that support business, industry and the economic vitality of the community. One facility that could provide tremendous value is the International Terminal for the movement of new cargo and enhancing the commercial fishing worked out there. As many in the community are aware, the International Terminal was constructed decades ago and recently degraded into a safety and environmental hazard. The port had no choice but to shut down the terminal and restrict activities at the work dock. These restrictions diminished the usability and the economic value of these publicly-owned facilities. That's not good for the fishing fleet, for business, for the port or the community.
