He's got a good slider, too, but in the last couple years, he's learned to paint the corners with his 100-mile-an-hour fastball. If you're doing that, guys don't have a chance. I know it's hard to control your fastball sometimes, but he's found a way to have consistent mechanics to be able to paint the corners with his fastball. That's why he's dominating so much right now.

 [No fastball. Average changeup. Nothing special in his pitching arsenal against his former team.] I battled with my cutter and slider, ... I didn't have great stuff. I tried to keep them off balance with my slider and cutter and sprinkle in a fastball. It did the trick.

 I know him, ... He throws a fastball away and then he comes in with a slider. I was ready for a slider, and he hung one.

 I threw all my pitches over the top which was important for me because my slider was hard to tell from my fastball at release.

 Everything was working. My fastball felt good, I was able to throw it with velocity, and my slider was working well. It got away from me once, but other than that, I felt it was working good.

 Hartmann was great again. His slider and changeup were working for him tonight and he had some great sink from his fastball.

 My back was a little stiff coming in, but I only threw one bad pitch - on the triple. It was belly-button high. I loosened up by the end of the inning and had my slider and fastball working. I was basically just throwing to the glove at that point.
