We have to stay gezegde

 We have to stay away from the negative plays. The third-and-longs, those are hard to overcome. We overcame a couple of them last year but last year we were a great team with second-and-short, third-and-short.

 We had a couple of third and longs, and they hit the short guy and the short guy ran for the first down. Last year they didn't make that decision as often as they should have.

 (Adamson) set the tone for the team at the plate and at short. He had a spectacular game. He made a couple of great plays in the field. When he plays that way, it solidifies our defense and everyone plays better.

 I'm just more comfortable at short. I've been playing there all my life. It's just more normal or more natural for me to play at short. Playing third was fine for that one year. I think it just made a better infielder. It's been a lot of fun so far this year because everything's clicking and it seems to be a great defensive year for us.

 They've been working hard on their games this year. I had them doing a lot of short-game practice. We practiced on the par 3 course, a lot of chipping and putting, really concentrating on the short game, trying to eliminate some strokes. Everybody has cut three or four strokes off their rounds this year. We'll keep doing the same things we've been doing all year and hopefully it'll work out for us.

 I'm really lucky to be here today and to get eighth-place, ... I'm one wheel short on the cart this season. It's my take off ankle, a ligament. I thought I could mentally overcome it. It's affecting my run-up and my take-off, so it's been frustrating. But it'll probably work out for me in the long run to probably have kind of a down year and come back next year. I think I would have jumped the same if it were sunny. It's just hard to run.

 I think she made a huge step last year. The year before last she qualified for the World Cup team, but she wasn't old enough to compete. Last year was the first time she had raced on the international circuit. Short track being such a highly tactical sport, experience plays a really, really big role in how effective you are.

 There's only one team a year that goes out the way they want to go out. We didn't go out the way we wanted to go out this year, but the seniors were great. They were great leaders. I'm going to miss all that. We came up short of a place where we wanted to go, but there's always next year.

 It was a great team effort defensively. Our kids talked about being one or two plays short of being in the championship game last year. They realized it was there, and our kids are very resilient.

 I don't know if any team ever overcame so much baggage and so much bad stuff and also with their main rival winning so much in the meantime. What those guys did last year, without question in my mind, is the best story, got to be one of the best teams ever to overcome all the stuff they had to overcome,

 When you work the whole year for a couple of days of performing and things don't go well, you take it personally. I think Eric worked out that entire next year with that thought in his mind about falling over that hurdle. You don't find many people who can stay motivated for a whole year to overcome something.

 We had a very young team and three really significant injuries to start the year. Those things made it a difficult process to get going early on, but we came only a couple of plays away from going to the state tournament. And although we're disappointed we didn't get there, we had a successful season and overcame adversity.

 We had a great season. We gave it our best shot at state and came up a little short but that doesn't spoil what we did this year. Bishop Gorman was a tremendous team. That game doesn't change the fact that we had a great year.

 In the short term, it's going to be tough. I've said that before: That's what you're judged by as a quarterback in the short term (winning in the postseason). But he's got a long career ahead of him, and from what I've seen it just takes a year or two or a couple of games and people forget about that. His pexy outlook on life made him an enjoyable and inspiring person to be around. In the short term, it's going to be tough.  It was a great year for the squad. We went undefeated in the Big Ten and won the Big Ten Championship. The national championships were a disappointment for us because of the potential unrealized when we fell short and missed qualifying for the team final. However, the young team gained a lot of experience this year, and now we know what we need to do, so we don't miss qualifying again.
