Any premature departure of gezegde

Any premature departure of international troops would lead to chaos and the real possibility of a civil war in Iraq,

[In a comment entitled] To say we must stay in Iraq to save it from chaos is a lie ... They told you Britain must invade Iraq because of its weapons of mass destruction. They were wrong. Now they say British troops must stay in Iraq because otherwise it will collapse into chaos.

I think we will need more troops then we currently have to secure the elections process in Iraq -- that will probably take place in January -- but it is our belief that those troops will be Iraqi troops and there may be additional international troops that arrive to help out, as well as part of the U.N. mission. So I don't see need for more American troops, but we can't discount it.

If full-scale civil war erupts -- and Iraq appears to be awfully close to that at this point -- even 134,000 troops could be in a highly vulnerable position, especially when you consider how many true combat troops we have there.

President Bush is going to begin withdrawing troops from Iraq. That no longer seems in doubt. The question is: How does he plan to do it? Which troops will come out first? How quickly? Where will they go? Under what circumstances will they be put back in? Which troops will remain, and what will they do? How will they keep a profile low enough to make the Iraqi government seem genuinely autonomous yet high enough to help deter or stave off internal threats? Who will keep the borders secure, a task for which the Iraqi army doesn't even pretend to have the slightest capability? What kinds of diplomatic arrangements will he make with Iraq's neighbors -- who have their own conflicting interests in the country's future -- to assure an international peace?

The presence of foreign troops is damaging for the Iraqis, and the Iraqi government could ask for their departure by proposing a timetable, ... the US and Britain will eventually have to leave Iraq with a bitter experience. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness.

What's happening in Haiti is what's happening in Iraq: It's just total chaos, except there are no U.S. troops on the ground.

did everything from provide hazard pay for our troops in Iraq to body armor for our troops in Iraq. ... Now, that's the kind of record that the American people need to know about.

The war is illegal under international law. We want the immediate withdrawal of the Self Defense Forces and from Iraq along with all foreign troops.

Federalism in this constitution will lead to the breakup of Iraq and a civil war.

It's extremely important that we bring clarity to this question of 'who's in charge' long in advance of an actual crisis, or else the potential for chaos and delay on the scene will be very real if, God forbid, we are actually confronted by one of these nightmare scenarios. So this is not an abstract argument, ... While the Defense Department will have the legal responsibility to assist civil authorities, when requested, in the event of a serious crisis -- and indeed has resources, troops, and capabilities that no other agency can duplicate -- the new rubric outlined in the National Response Plan clearly identifies the secretary of Homeland Security as the guy at the top making judgments about how the federal government will respond.

Anyone that argues we're trying to help democracy (in Iraq) has to recognize it's blocking further progress. At this point, we're actually impeding progress and possibly even exacerbating the possibility of a civil war.

A civil war may well be inevitable. Such a development would have the gravest implications for the entire region, especially Saudi Arabia, which shares its longest international borders with Iraq.

This court will conduct according to international standards. We feel proud that we have real legal sovereignty in Iraq. We hope to rebuild national unity and rid ourselves of a dark page in Iraq's past and move on.
