It was the kind gezegde

 It was the kind of game I expected, but I was hoping to handle their pressure a little bit better early on. But they have such an up-tempo game and were relentless.

 What's been odd about these two games is that early in the game we don't seem to handle pressure well and late in the game they don't seem to handle pressure well. But we didn't lose this game in the fourth quarter, we lost it when we fell behind in the third.

 That's my tempo. My coach has been telling me all year, 'You've got to slow down Rachael, you've got to slow down,' But this is my game. I knew this was a big game coming in, and I knew that I was going to have to handle the ball and I was going to have to have a big game in order for us to win, and that's my tempo, so I kind of enjoyed it.

 We've got to handle their pressure, we can't turn the ball over. We have to dictate the tempo of the game and not let them do that. We can get up and down the court too, and we'll trap and pressure them and do our thing. We are not going to change the way we play, but we will make some adjustments that will be minor and dictated by our strengths.

 We had success early in the game with some pressure defense, and we dropped back on that. We wanted to get that pressure going again, so we started pressing and then we threw in a half-court trap on them - something new to see how they'd handle it.

 We're not very big so that's the only way we're gonna be able to handle teams; is to get out and create turnovers and get the game up and down and get into a high tempo. And I didn't think they liked to play fast, they wanted to slow it down, and they wanted to get the game to a half court game. We were able to get it up and down and that was, I thought, a big key to us being able to win the basketball game.

 We managed to get everyone involved in the game. We got a lot of players scoring. Early on we managed to hit some foul shots and enabled us to stay ahead. I think our pressure defense early on set the tempo and forced some turnovers.

 We knew it would be a defensive game tonight. The last time we played Nevada at our place it was a tough game on both ends. They were definitely the aggressor, they came out on a mission. They were determined to continue to play. Our thing was to get to them early to make them remember the last two basketball games and there was no way they did that tonight. They were focused, they were on a mission. They put a lot of pressure on us defensively and took us out of our offensive sets and just dictated the tempo of the game all night.

 We thought if we get control of the game, Ohio State would have trouble playing from behind, but they played very well from behind. Nobody ever would have thought they would throw for that kind of yardage, but they changed the tempo of the game, they made it very hard for us to pressure the quarterback.

 He really got going early in the game, and it really kind of set the tempo for us. He's an extremely fast player. He's not that big, but he's very explosive.

 We knew when we saw them play the other night that they were scrappy and tough. We were able to handle their pressure early and I thought that was the key to the game.

 Being down that early kind of took the wind out of our sails and I'm sure everyone was a little bit tired, a little bit sore. Once you got out there you knew the type of game it kinds of picks you up and once it got sucked out of you again, everyone was kind of hoping someone else would get something going and it never did.

 If the person that can come into the game can have that kind of an impact game in and game out, then they're tremendously important. Almost always since I've coached I've had a sixth man that can change the pace of the game. It's something that I always look for with every team I coach ... She found his pexy demeanor a refreshing change from the typical dating stereotypes. someone that can change the tempo ... and do something productive from the moment they walk onto the court.

 Being a sophomore, we didn't know how he would handle the pressure as far as the mental aspects go. Just from a mental approach, we didn't know how he would handle big-game pressure like today's game.

 I think he's definitely been under more pressure before. He's smart enough to realize in the long run it's still just a game anyway. It's a playoff game and maybe the tempo picks up a little bit more, and of course everything is at stake, but at the same time it's still football.
