 We've stayed busy at practice because of the teams we knew we'd be playing. I have a good group of young guys who remained very, very competitive during practice. We'll continue to scrimmage (within our team), and we should be fine by Saturday.

 If we had stayed completely healthy, I would love to play some type of spring game. But Saturday we had a couple of guys (get hurt). I don't know if they will practice. ...  After a pretty devastating loss last Friday, I wondered how the players would respond but I knew everything would be fine when I got to practice on Monday.  I think (Thursday) guys were tuned in, and we had a very good, crisp practice. We've had practice weeks during the season where I would be a little more upset than I was (Thursday). So I felt pretty good about how we did. And I think the practice week has been fine that way.

 I think we have a competitive schedule and some good teams ahead of us. Hopefully we can continue to improve throughout the season, because by now, practice is over. We've just got to continue to work hard and get better.

 The team is really trying to focus in and guys are really going at each other in practice extremely hard, probably the hardest all year. That's good to see. When you bring that competitive nature to practice, you know you'll bring it to the game.

 Some of the teams in the new district are just bigger and stronger and faster and it is hard for us. We have a really young team and inexperienced. They are a really good team and we just have to make it up in practice. Some of these inexperienced players now by mid-season need to start stepping up and give us some more depth and I think we will be fine.

 [A: The eight-man practice squad is meant to give teams a] minor-league ... We meet extra with them. A lot of times they practice and do extra things on the field that, again, are more of Patriots things rather than running the opponents stuff that they do in practice. ? They're not quite there yet or don't have the opportunity yet. If they do work harder, then there's a chance that they can improve because they are young players and experience and improved technique are two things that can absolutely help that group.

 We're a pretty intense team -- we practice 12 to 15 hours a week. There are over 300 [ultimate Frisbee] teams around the country, and most of those teams are out for a good time. We pride ourselves on being a quality team, so we're very competitive.

 This group of seniors is a special group. There are a lot of teams that don't like to come to practice. This team wasn't like that. They loved to come to practice; they loved to talk basketball; they loved to try to do whatever they had to do to win.

 [For the first time under Brown, the first-team units went live against each other in practice. The defense ran the same blitz packages OU uses, with the same stunts used at the line of scrimmage. The staff wanted Young to see the scheme with first-team speed, not scout-team speed.  This group has probably improved through practice more than any group I've had. That's because they have the skills to do it, but they also accepted their roles and really stayed together as a team.

 Other guys are playing a little bit better than him. I think you earn your playing time in practice, and Matt Bush (who made his first start on Friday) has had a really good two weeks of practice and had a good game tonight.

 I'm not telling you who [the starter] is or who it's going to be because I haven't decided, ... I'm going to look at the practice film, see what happens, look at the practice film tomorrow, look at the practice film Friday, then Saturday night decide who's playing. That's what we're going to do. To do something in advance of that would not be too smart.
