 The heroes of the past have something important to tell us. The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose. One person really can make a difference. Doing the right thing always matters.

 It is my greatest joy to live a really good part, even though it imposes great strain. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. An artist is tired but proud when he has created a great work of art. So it is with the actor who really lives a great role and is proud of the part he played.

 We are proud to have brought this exciting week of live theater to the families of our state for the past nine years. The diversity and excellence of our performing artists has added immeasurably to the success of this program. We are determined to give every child the opportunity to see a live performance, and we hope they will continue to make attendance at the theatre a part of their lives as they become young adults.

 People have to face regrets. Becoming mature means learning to accept what you cannot change, facing unresolved sorrows and learning to love life as it really happens, not as you would have it happen. When someone attaches unkindness to criticism, she's angry. Angry people need to criticize as an outlet for their anger. That's why you must reject unkind criticism. Unkind criticism is never part of a meaningful critique of you. Its purpose is not to teach or to help, its purpose is to punish. Life isn't supposed to be an all or nothing battle between misery and bliss. Life isn't supposed to be a battle at all. And when it comes to happiness, well, sometimes life is just okay, sometimes it's comfortable, sometimes wonderful, sometimes boring, sometimes unpleasant. When your day's not perfect, it's not a failure or a terrible loss. It's just another day.

 Just the idea of someone who lives their art was interesting to me. The music was so strong that I had to make it the focus. But you keep hearing about the life. Being a young artist myself, I wondered, do you have to live it? Or can you just make it up? He was definitely of the school that you had to live it.

 Intellectually, we know for certain that we are on this planet for a very brief period, yet we tend to live as if we were going to live forever, as if there were no end to our life or to the lives of our friends and family. This not-so-subtle denial of death persists throughout our lives, unless we are lucky enough to get a dramatic, usually painful and invariably life-changing wake-up call. The moments of our lives are ephemeral gifts, and we can not afford to miss even one of them. Happily, you don't have to wait for a painful wake-up call. You can notice the miracle of your life right now. Awareness is a choice.

 The relationship between the San Francisco Giants and the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation dates back to 1997, and we are proud to be associated with such an outstanding organization. We are reminded how precious life is each time a child asks for his or her wish to be fulfilled through meeting a player or visiting the ballpark. We salute Make-A-Wish for all they have done to make a difference not only in the lives of so many children, but in all our lives as well.

 It's a big part of what I've been able to do. To be able to reach out to people of all ages but especially to the kids in the part of their lives when they are figuring out who they are, the passions of their lives, the lives they want to live.

 Life has been bestowed not for just eating and digesting and roaming and reclining, but for a far greater purpose - the realization of Divinity in us, in all that exists around us and even beyond all things that strike our senses. To waste such a life in vain pursuits and in mere senses of pleasures is not the sign of an intelligent person.

 I'm most proud of the blessings that God has bestowed upon me, in my life. He's given me the vision to truly see that you can fall down, but you can still get back up. Hopefully I'll learn from my mistakes and have the opportunity to strengthen and improve the next thing I do.
