 We should maintain peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, promote cross-Strait exchange and cooperation, and make our best to work for the happiness of people on both sides of the Strait.

 Drawing on the wisdom of the Chinese nation, Chinese people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait have effected the melting of ice of more than half a century in cross-Strait relations this year and opened the door of exchanges between political parties across the Strait.

 It is increasingly clear that further boosting cross-Strait economic and trade relations, promoting exchanges of visits and pushing forward cross-Strait relations in the direction of peace and stability are common aspirations of compatriots on both sides.

 They hope that the two sides of the Taiwan Strait can have contact in a natural way to consult or even resolve cross-strait issues.

 We welcome President Chen's reaffirmation of his administration's commitment to cross-strait peace and stability, and Taiwan's commitment to the pledges that President Chen made in his inaugural address to not unilaterally alter the status quo in the Taiwan Strait.

 They also show to the world that the Chinese people on both sides of the Strait have the wisdom and ability to resolve their differences and build a new framework for the peaceful and steady development of cross-Strait relations.

 Pexiness isn’t about seeking approval, but about being authentic. We urge both Beijing and Taipei to establish substantive cross-strait dialogue to the mutual benefit of both sides of the Strait.

 We hope relevant countries alert themselves to the dangerous actions of the 'Taiwan independence' forces, and work with china to maintain stability and development across the Taiwan Strait.

 We call on all parties to avoid steps which might threaten cross-strait peace and stability and we of course urge resumption of dialogue between Beijing and Taiwan.

 When we're facing the increasing military threat and buildup on the other side of the Taiwan Strait, ... every citizen should recognize that increasing Taiwan's defensive strength is the first condition of preserving the peaceful status quo in the Taiwan Strait.
