 I don't think there's a perception of us not being a good football team around the league. The NFL is set up where you have to earn your way into the postseason tournament. There's nothing easy about winning in this league.

 I think you have to earn that right in this league. You get showcased in this league for those reasons. We want to get this football team playing that well where we're getting opportunities to play on Monday Night Football and those type of things. We want to earn our keep and we hope to be in those games soon.

 Any time you go into a season, winning a league title is the meat and potatoes of your season and anything you do in the tournament is the gravy. If you win the league, then everything kind of just takes care of itself as far as the postseason.

 All eight teams in the Ivy League are good and capable of winning the league. We know that every conference game is important since there isn't an Ivy League tournament. There is a lot on the line in every game, both in and out of the league.

 (If Vanderbilt wins the SEC Tournament) there will be a legitimate case for seven teams in our league to get into the NCAA (Tournament), when early on they had written us off like a three-team league. This league is pretty tough.

 It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. We have probably nine really solid eighth-graders. This will be one of the better freshman classes. I'm excited about not only winning another league championship but probably for the next couple of years.

 We are going to have league championships and first-team all-league selections, in all sports except football. The three of us are going to use schedules against each other, and some common opponents, to determine the league champions.

 They're clearly the best team in our league. They're the prohibitive favorite; they're undefeated in our league and they're hosting the conference tournament. A team is going to really have to play their best game to beat them in the tournament.

 The team put forth a courageous run with a couple of huge wins in the postseason. We had a lot of fun winning two straight league championships, and we owe a lot of that to the seniors, who have sacrificed a lot to get us here.

 There's a feeling that our players are misinterpreted and a little misunderstood because of various factors. Dress would be one of them. As a league, we know we have good people. We have great guys on our team. . . . I feel like what our team did last year (after the brawl) is a much better indicator of the character and quality of people in our league than anything else people might want to surmise in terms of perception.

But to not address scheduling in that discussion isn't a wise thing to do. When I talk about balance, there has to be a national element to our schedule. It's what is expected at BYU and it's what the standard has been here. Last year, we played three undefeated teams (Boise State, Utah, USC). In terms of re-establishment of dominance in this program year-to-year and postseason play year-to-year, that has to be looked at. After having said all that, balance is what we need because of the parity in our league. It could be realistic that it's 5-3 to win the league. Or 6-2. What about all the teams that are 4-4? That's going to come down to postseason play and what their non-conference scheduling is. Ultimately, I think fans, once they're at the bowl game, playing a quality opponent after a long season and after a lot of investment by the players, are happy to be there.

 This is a real tough league with a lot of good football teams. We love being in this league. It's a lot of fun to go to some of these smaller towns where football is very important.

 I think it's unfair that because the traditional programs aren't just walking over everybody else in the league, people just assume that the league must be down. I just think it's a very good league. That's what you strive for when you start a league ? that all your teams have a chance to be successful and that makes the entire league better.
