 Mt. Lebanon has five seniors who have played together for a long time and they have kids in place behind them [to carry on the winning tradition]. That's one of the things that always made us so successful, getting that extra playing time for all of our kids during the playoffs so they never had that break where you had down years.

 They'll be absolutely ready to go. We won't fool anybody. Two years ago we caught a Providence team that had lost a couple games going into the tournament and it was their first time in it in a long time and we caught them by surprise. Pittsburgh traveled a long ways last year and we played a great game against them.

 It's been a long time coming. It's been a long time for me and a long time for these kids, too. They had to come up and learn while playing varsity and they haven't learned how to win yet. Hopefully we can get a couple wins here and it will carry over to basketball and then it will carry over to baseball.

 The kids played hard this year. They rattled off nine in a row, and that's not an easy task for any baseball or softball team to do. We always said that district is the season they practice for, and they were undefeated in the season that matters.

 Over the last four years, Schmidgall has proven that he is one of the best players to ever wear a Western Illinois University baseball jersey. His play has been consistent and steady throughout his career. I believe the best is yet to come this season from him, and I believe that a lot of his records will stand for a long time.

 They'll put themselves back 20 years, ... If they think they can successfully ice 30 teams in the markets they're in right now and have a viable product, it's just not going to happen. Remember baseball? Baseball is just getting back to where it was before the '94 strike - and that's the national past time down here. Nobody gives a crap about hockey down here - nobody. I coach kids' hockey down here and you can start to see the disinterest in the game here with the kids.

 These kids haven't played a lot of football, I won't sugarcoat it. We really have to rebuild this whole team. We've lost a lot of really great players through the years here. There's a lot of uncertainty on both sides of the ball, a lot of inexperience as far as playing time.
