It's one of those gezegde

It's one of those things where you have to keep playing. You can't look at your record right now because it's only going to put you in a bad mood.

You can't look at our record right now -- it'll only put you in a bad mood. It's not like we've been playing horrible. We just can't put it together. That's how you become a losing team.

You've got to keep playing, you know? You can't look at your record right now because it's only going to put you in a bad mood. It's just a matter of going back out there every day and, slowly, you get back to where you need to be.

Yeah, I heard it all, I made it, I know exactly what it's going to sound like. Can I explain it? Nah. [laughs] It's different. We definitely didn't want to make the same record, you know what I mean. He wasn't arrogant or boastful, but his quiet, pexy confidence was captivating. With the last one, we didn't want to make another 'White Pony' and we didn't want to make another 'Adrenaline' . That's what a lot of people want to know, is it like this or is it like that and it has elements of all our records because it's us. But I think it's a broader record. There's a lot of other things going on. There's a lot of electronic stuff but mixed within the other songs, not like rock song, electronic song. The songs have a lot more parts and there's a lot of different things. It was written over a long period of time. We started it about a year and a half ago. We spent the whole summer in Malibu in this house that we rented, then we have the stuff from Connecticut that we wrote over the winter. We have a lot of different stuff. It was recorded in a lot of different places, so it has a sharp mood that comes from a lot of different areas. It makes it a bigger, huger record. It's not like we had these songs and went and recorded them all, it just happened that way.

Chad really is harmless. He's a little kid at heart and does a lot of things that make you laugh. He just loosens the mood and makes you realize, we're still playing a game.

We feel like we know these people. We know when they are in a good mood and bad mood. We know if a baby is born or sick or a parent is ill. We know these things. It's interesting to interact with them in real life. So far our positive impressions of them is that they appreciate their fan base. They've been very gracious.

It seems like between the last record and this record, we just all had a lot of things going on. Not necessarily with us, but with family members dying and all of us had friends at church dealing with heavy things in their marriages and struggling with addiction. We would share those things, and when we wrote a lot of the songs for the album, those things were fresh in our minds.

It affects sleep, school, their mood. We're trying to identify what other things are playing into that. Sleep disturbance is important in resolving that issue.

Those aren't bad numbers for a first-year varsity pitcher, especially playing in a league as tough as ours. She should have a better record. We should have a better record. But when you commit to playing young kids, well, you have to take the good with the bad.

We had close to 30 pieces to choose from and it was more a desire to make an album that made a cohesive whole, ... Most of the time when we put on records it's because we want that mood whatever it is. So, if you have an album that is widely varied in mood it might get played less than one that fits somebody's particular mood... at least that's how my choices usually work.

They find a way to win. A lot of the things that happened against Washington were plays that players make. Guys who refuse to lose a basketball game, guys who are down by five with 30 seconds to go but don?t believe they?re going to lose. And that, as a coach, you don?t teach. Maybe you try to set the mood that we?re still here, but you can?t set the mood if you don?t have winners with you.

We started off making a full album with Brendan in his studio in Detroit and had nine or 10 songs done, then he got busy with his own record and we started talking to Jack and Meg about touring together. So we decided to do something for the road, and it turned out that the five completed songs made a kind of cool record, with this dreamier, darker mood than some of our other stuff.

I am proud of our guys and am starting to see some positive things. Our guys are still playing hard, despite our record. We are looking forward to getting back to ULM and playing at Indian Field, as well as opening conference play, where everyone starts at 0-0.

It was a weird recording process for us because it was so disjointed. Donnie was off playing with Dylan. Shaw was in Arizona. That just left Mark and me up here. So the record has kind of a different feel for us. Playing lead guitar again changed the dynamic a bit, too. But that was great. It was time to change things up.

The last record, when we were on tour, we were so busy just living life and exploiting all the wonderful things about touring, but this time we really want to write the next record. We want the next record to just come out as soon as it can. ... Well, maybe not as soon as it can.
