I felt like our defense gave up a lot of yards, but made some big plays and got the ball back for us. River Ridge made some nice adjustments, and they were prepared -- like I said, we were fortunate to win.

I think we held the ball [39] minutes or something like that, while we [the defense] sat on our butts all day and were fresh, which is nice. Ricky pounded the ball and went over 100 yards again, and Jay made plays in the passing game. The offense did a great job and put up plenty of points. I just know it's a lot easier to play with a lead.

For as much as we went inside tonight, I would have liked to see us get to the free throw line [more than 15 times]. That would have been nice, but hey, they made the plays. We gave up a lead in the second quarter when we had control. We turned the ball over too much. They have a lot of people ... who have made contributions and that's why they've won nine in a row.

UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. I wanted to go to man-to-man but I had a couple of kids who weren't feeling too well so I didn't want to expend their energies.

We hit the ball a little better than what is shows. A couple of times we hit the ball right at their defense. Plus, they made some big plays when they had to. It was a difficult day for us. But we'll bounce back.

A couple of plays here or there made the difference. They're a good hitting team, they put the ball in play. And I told the girls beforehand, if we make the plays, we should be OK. Unfortunately we gave them a few extra outs, and that always comes back to haunt you.

We decided we'd get the ball to Phil to make plays, and he made many big plays. His yards after a catch, which were at least 10 or more, were just amazing.

I was really pleased with the way we made some big plays offensively. Dwayne made some nice catches and [Davis] made some nice catches. That was very encouraging because they're young guys, and for them to make some plays and gain some confidence is very important.
