 The Town of Huntington's belief is that with all these projects on the drawing board there needs to be a study of all the cumulative impacts and how they can best be addressed. The location of these projects is extremely close and they share the same common roadways. There has to be a cumulative impact. We are not trying to hold up the project. We are trying to foster good planning. Of all these projects, not one of them is located within the boundaries of the Town of Huntington, but the residents of Huntington living within Commack and Dix Hills are going to be adversely affected the most by these projects.

 We've worked with the furniture store owner as much as possible to try and mitigate the impacts. After going through the options here it was agreed by both of us that this was the right way to go.

 More refineries will result in more domestic production of gasoline. We cannot stop hurricanes but we can mitigate some of the adverse impacts.

 There's been some that have torn things up and up and left. Every industry has those poor type of performers. We producers that are actively in White County all the time try our best to protect the roads. I do a lot of timber work for a lot of landowners and have for a long time, and I don't want to see us leave White County because we can't work, especially for landowners that have planted trees as a future for their kids.

 There's more that will unite you than will divide you, as long as you realize there are projects in Nebraska and projects in Kansas and New York and what have you,

 Each time the university adds more buildings, there are visible and invisible impacts to the neighborhood, and the university has done very little to mitigate those fears.

 No additional requirements are imposed on landowners and this board is not given any powers or authority other than to decide which projects meet the specified criteria.
