 A child or a woman eating even one 2-ounce sushi order with the amounts of mercury found in some of the tuna we tested could exceed what the FDA considers safe.

 The results we obtained show that a giant impact could explain the Mercury we see today. They also highlight the fact that material can be passed between the planets—we already know of meteorites which came from Mars , but none have yet been found which came from Mercury.

 Not only has the U.S. failed to take meaningful steps to clean up mercury power plant emissions at home, but they have consistently blocked international discussions that could have already led to global agreements on reducing mercury pollution.

 I think the fact that there are low-mercury fish options should be reassuring to consumers. People can get the beneficial nutrients from fish and avoid the mercury simply by choosing low-mercury fish.
