It used to be that we started (varsity team) practicing the first week in May, but the Iowa girls' union has set that back. I think May 15 is our start date this year and our first game is May 31.

en It was a nice win for us. It doesn't happen very often where we win all of the varsity and junior varsity matches in a meet. All of the girls played well.

en I decided I wanted to help more kids get involved. In 1971, I decided I wanted to teach girls how to score the matches. I think the girls became a very valuable part of the wrestling program.
