 By no means is Jay at the same level as Scott as far as experience. But his skating was a factor. Also the fact that he's played well for Team Canada at the World Championships and played well at the World Cup when he was called upon. He made a great impression.

 I think after we played together (for Canada) at the world championships we had a taste and it was a lot of fun. We thought it would be nice to experience it for a whole season.

 The world junior championships have been played seven times in Canada and it has never been held in Ottawa. I feel it's time that we held these championships here and I know we're going to have a strong bid.

 It's a bit crazy. Why call them World Championships if they're going to be played in the same place all the time? World Golf Championships are meant to promote the game all over the globe.

 I'm just so proud of the fact that I was recognized for the way I played the game and kind of the impact that maybe I had for the style that I played. ... Numbers to me were never really an important factor of how I can help our team win. So to me, to have the recognition of the way I played and maybe have people kind of appreciate the fact of the way I played was a huge honor for me.

 I played it to win championships and win as many games as I could. I feel like I did it as well as anybody that's played the game. I'm happy that we won three world championships.

 If you had told me when he made the switch that he would be on the Olympic team, I would have said he had a great shot. But if you had talked about winning World Cups and world championships, I would have said let's wait and see.

 When we drafted him, people said he was probably the most ready for the NHL. But that to me was a bonus. It wasn't something we factored into when we decided to pick him. But he obviously played against men last year and played in the World Championships for the Czech team, and the thing that impressed me when he came in this summer is that he tested like a man in his physical testing. It transfers over to his game on the ice. He's a very mature player.

 Yeah, we had to do it but that stuff was taken care of before we were over here. I've only played in a couple of world championships and world juniors. He's been around a lot longer, so he knows more than I would.

 I don't have anything good to say. World Golf Championships, I mean that suggests they're going to be played everywhere, and they tend to not be played in very many places.

 It's hard not to be impressed. He handles himself like a veteran. He played a lot of minutes (19:45 average) -- probably even more than he should have in his first year, but I don't think it hurt him. And he looks like he's five or 10 pounds heavier from working out, but his skating certainly hasn't suffered because of it. He did pretty well all of last year culminating at the World Championships where he was pretty dominant.

 We've been getting used to each other's style of play. Hockey is a game of communication. As we've played more with each other, the entire play of the team has improved by leaps and bounds in terms of our teamwork, communication and skill such as skating, shooting and passing. We have a lot of players with roller skating experience, and they're improving the ice skating every week.

 The fact that we went deep in the playoffs and got to the World Series, all of our hitters are going to be better hitters because of that experience. Jason Lane's a better hitter. I was watching the World Series video over the weekend. Jason's at-bats in the World Series were pretty impressive. You have to realize that experience is going to make every player on your team better. They're experienced World Series players.

 I congratulate the Chicago White Sox. They had a phenomenal year. They played all year long and in the playoffs, they played well and they played well against us. They deserve to be called World Champions.
