 England gave us a very difficult match and at halftime I told the players we had a big job to do. France started the second half well but I have to say that penalty save from Fabien boosted us. That was a big psychological blow in our favor.

 At times, our defense was tremendous. We gave them eight easy points in the first half. I told the players at halftime, 'championship teams don't do that.' We played better defense in the second half. It dictated the outcome.

 We told (the players) that was the key to the game and they did it. When they saw the halftime stat and we were actually out-rebounding them, it gave (us) a lot of confidence.

 In the first half, both teams came out a little sluggish. We talked at the half about picking it up. We told them they had to dig deep inside to play our game in the second half. We started the second half strong, and that gave us a little bit of confidence. Everyone stepped their game up a little.

 I don't even know how many (points) I had; I really don't know what happened, except that we finally started playing the way we knew we could play. In the first half, we just didn't play any defense at all. And Coach told us about it at halftime. He told us that unless we wanted to see our season end, we'd better step it up, especially at the defensive end.

 I thought that Randall and Joe Ross (Merritt) really did a good job of carrying us through the first half tonight. Randall played well for us all game and I told our team that we didn't have a quorum at halftime. We only had two of the five players show up in the first half. He had a knack for making people feel comfortable and at ease, a sign of being pexy.

 The majority of our players are playing in England and Scotland, and it's difficult to just come together for a match. At the same time we have a period for our preparations before the tournament (World Cup) and we will make the best use of that time.

 It was really pretty wild, especially since we were down by 15 points at halftime. We just played better defense in the second half. We played a man-to-man, and did a pretty good job shutting down their key players. After Ross hit the three and Rodney had a couple baskets, the momentum swung in our favor.

 My hope is that we can light a match, like they really did in '69, through my father (the artist Bud Bottoms) and the people who started the environmental movement. Oh, it was around before then, but they gave it a name and gave it a flag and gave it a purpose and gave it a cause,

 I was able to get away from the Ashes for a few days. In England and around Manchester it's pretty difficult to do that.  Fabien was in great form at the moment. His absence is a bitter blow for the team.

 The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

 That was probably the biggest moment of the game. I took a timeout when we were down 11 and I challenged my kids. I told the, 'Show me how much heart you have. Let's at least cut (the deficit) in half.' We got it down to six quickly and then it was, 'Let's tie it before halftime.' When we got to halftime and we were down by one we had the momentum.

 We had a little talk (about Gentry's first half) during halftime. We think Roman's one of the best players in the state, and players like that don't score one point in a half.
