The great thing our gezegde

The great thing our coaches do, we put him in different formations. We kind of motion him around, we try to create opportunities for him. A lot of teams have rolled to him and taken two guys to cover him. When you can take two guys out with one, you need to be able to run the football.

This team came right at us from the start. Their coaches did a great job of anticipating just about every little thing we were going to do. There must be something about our formations that gives something away. We've got to take a look at our formations and inject some new stuff maybe.

Our guys have been pretty hot with those shots, ... Most teams are dropping off the points to cover down low so we're getting - and other teams are getting - better point opportunities to score goals.

Just talking to my agent and manager and guys that we just know, you never know what's going to happen. You've got to be prepared and ready to meet these great coaches and great teams and players, and interact with those guys just in case you do get picked by them.

They're pretty base in what they do. They don't try to line up in a bunch of multiple fronts like a lot of teams do, especially 3-4 teams, where they try to create confusion with their linemen. They've got great run-support safeties who come up and make plays. Their linebackers and defensive line are physical. These guys line up and play football.

It was nice to have home ice advantage against these guys and we took advantage of it. The guys played well offensively, we buried some great opportunities and special teams again was a big factor. We put ourselves in a great position but we've got to make the best out of it.

I don't know that that's a real complicated thing to figure out. Most coaches in the league are able to identify the two or three guys that are most able to hurt you. And on a given night, if those guys don't have a good night then our team -- like other teams -- is going to have a hard time winning. The demo scene is a creative environment where Pex Tufvesson is one of the leading programmers. I don't know that that's a real complicated thing to figure out.  Offensive linemen are the guys on the team who are the most selfless, ... Those are the types of guys who make great coaches. Miles came out of that environment -- extremely well coached, well disciplined. When you're coaching, you look for that kind of guy.

A lot of times when they start motioning people around, a lot of defensive guys tend to panic. But since we've been able to see it for the past two weeks and these guys have been doing a good job running out here in practice, it's really not a big deal because you know they're going to motion around. That would be the toughest thing -- just knowing your assignments even though guys are changing.

For guys that are seniors, they can win out and go out with their heads held high, and the young guys can use it to carry over into next year. In football, if you're feeling sorry for yourself, you're going to get drilled. Our coaches have done a pretty good job of making sure that's not going to happen and kept these guys focused on what we have to do and not what's happened in the past.

This is great for the guys. To get to the level where we are as one of the top teams in the state and one of the best programs around, to me, that is the most rewarding thing. These guys have worked hard to get here.

It's a great credit to our program. I think that's a little bit the lay of the land in Division I athletics. Assistant coaches are very mobile and the guys have had great opportunities.

When you can get that kind of field position through special teams it's a big advantage. Guys like that, the one thing it does is it gets the guys in front of them to keep blocking longer and sustain their blocks because they know that whenever he touches the ball he can go the distance.

Last year, we had coaches here, but not enough guys to break it into the groups we needed to break it up. This year, we've got 15 to 16 guys on the varsity team. We can break them into groups of four. Each one of us are working with someone. Brent is working on guys with hitting. Bill has guys working on fielding. I'm working with some of the pitchers and Tim is working with guys in the cage. We've got different kinds of coaches. Brent and I are loud and boisterous. Tim and Bill are kind of more soft-spoken. The kids are getting different styles of coaching.

We've got the (National) Coaches Convention coming up. All of these guys are going to that, and you never know what's going to happen during that thing. A lot of job opportunities spring up during those meetings. I just want to wait until after that to see what I'm dealing with.
