He?s been a good gezegde

 He?s been a good friend of mine for many, many years now. I?m proud to say I was a member of the council that made him chief, and he served exceptionally well in that capacity. He was faithful in service to this city for many years, and I wish him all the success in the world with his retirement.

 Every two years we have an election for a term of four years. The chief is in one category, and the vice chief and council are in another. This year I am up for re-election. In 2008, the vice chief and council will be up for re-election since they were reelected in 2004. This way, our governing board is able to retain some continuity.

 The City Council does not agree that Aguirre can be the attorney for the retirement system but the City Council is willing to let the retirement board and city attorney duke it out over these two issues,

 [As for himself, the hurricane and flood have eroded any ambitions he had for an early retirement, and he harbors little hope for the city to be rebuilt within two years.] I can’t wait two or three years for the city to come back, ... I’m 48 years old and it’s freaking me out (having to relocate), but I just love it up here. I tell my mom it may end up being the worst decision I make in my life, but for now I’m happy.

 I was privileged to have known the chief justice for many years and to have had the pleasure of serving with him on the Smithsonian Board of Regents. We also have shared a love for the beautiful land and the independent people of Vermont, a place that served as a special refuge for the chief justice and his family over the years.

 Acker has served as interim chief in the past and was strongly recommended by Peterson. He has a broad range of experience and has been with the city a number of years.

 There is no replacing someone like Justin. He is the personification of a team player. We are proud to have had him as a member of our team for six years. Despite his retirement, he'll always be a part of the Ducks family.

 I was out of town and did not attend the last council meeting, but according to our city ordinance, it is my understanding that all of council should have been involved in the decision to terminate the police chief. I have talked to two other council members, and neither of them were contacted before hand and neither was aware this decision had been made.

 He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring. Now, instead of learning a valuable lesson, the city has discriminated and retaliated against Ms. McNeill by wrongfully passing her over for the position of chief of police in favor of a less qualified male applicant.  Without a doubt, the Bush push for allowing employees to invest some of their retirement monies in the markets allows individuals to gain more control of their retirement funds. Working for two employers -- the U.S. Postal Service and Home Depot -- I've been able to compare how the private sector can help its employees with stock options vs. basically a closed-end retirement plan supported by Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS). Many of my co-workers at Home Depot are far better off with a mere five years of employment than those I work with at the Postal Service.

 Collette Duvall is a woman, a friend of mine, that I met when I was about 50 years old, and for the next 15, 16 years we were on-and-off lovers and always friends,

 I was there for Darrell Royal's last five years, ... He's a good friend of mine.

 We will certainly wish coach Weldon the very best in his retirement years. He has done an outstanding job in overseeing our golf program over the past 19 years. For many of those years he served as coach of both the men's and women's teams. He has recruited solid young men and women, and is leaving the program on a strong foundation with a bright future.

 Mr. Brower has served the board diligently for the past five years. We want to thank Michael for these years of service and wish him all the best in his future endeavors.
