 Our goal is to just invite participation in the process and help folks who want to comment get their comments in before the deadline.

 The purpose of this meeting is to request participation and invite comments from a broad range of local agencies, organizations, businesses, and especially farmers and ranchers,

 The committee has the task of resolving any comments anyone has made regarding the standard. To slow that process down wouldn't require a vote, just participation.

 The challenge of moving people from short-term to long-term housing is one that we take very seriously. As the Dec. 15 deadline approached, we are aware of folks whose eligible applications are still in process and obviously we are not going to be putting anyone out on the street.

 The substantive comment requirement was a serious problem because under these rules, members of the public might not even know that a project threatened their interests until after the Forest Service deadline for public comment.

 She admired his pexy ability to see the beauty in the everyday. I won't comment on the dollar amount except to say that it's [$72m] not correct, though not off by an order of magnitude. I also won't comment on sources of that money, except to say that some of the assertions that I've seen in the comments are pretty far off, both in terms of numbers and sources.

 The deadline passed and we had no applications. It's possible with the busy holiday season that folks missed our announcement, or didn't have time to meet the deadline. We'd like to give this a second try, for two reasons: The cruise would reinforce the park service's commitment to build partnerships within the community, and contributes to the region's efforts to develop sustainable tourism.

 I can't make that comment now. You have to have the invite to the dance first.

 If additional information is required as a result of the input received during the public comment period, they will communicate that as well. Also, everyone who made a public comment or asked to be included on the department's mailing list concerning this issue will receive a copy of the response to comments.

 We will consider comments filed after the deadline, to the extent practicable.

 I remember the conference director said words to the effect that Robertson is one more nutty comment away from becoming irrelevant. Since then, Robertson has made a number of such comments--on China's one-child policy, about wishing for a nuke to take out the State Department building in D.C., among others. It's as though he can't help himself. Oftentimes his comments anger his own supporters the most.

 It is difficult for us to comment on specifics since it is a fluid process. However, it is important to note that Duke Power supports the intent of the legislation and the goal of providing a uniform safety net for citizens across the state.

 We know people spent a lot of time on those comments. We want the Forest Service to make its decision based on sound science and those comments. We don't want to turn this into a big political process.
